We all come to Eater because of the humor, but there's some spark of humanity in us that realizes we do this to keep the lads away from potential victims.
A little over a year ago, I made the commitment to spend more time at ScamWarners, even if it was only to add initial lad formats. My morning usually starts with a cup of coffee and 15 minutes adding new lads there. I figured I could spare 15 minutes from emailing or messaging lads to help others.
In that time, I've received some lovely messages, requests for confirmations of a scam, some threats from lads who didn't like seeing their names on the webs, and this morning, the most rewarding message of them all:

Ultimately, we all started this to save a few victims, right? I'll sleep well for the rest of this month knowing someone was ready to jump on a plane and hand over large sums of money and something that took me about 30 seconds to search, copy, and paste stopped him. |

It just goes to show that even if you are certain that no one is going to fall for the format that you just received, there may be someone who does.
The few minutes that you take to post a few formats at SW could save someone their life savings, or even their life if they were planning on jetting off to meet a scammer as the victim who messaged bware was.
