As 2017 comes to its end, the mods and admins would like to share some reflections on Eater during the past year.

Throughout 2017, there were roughly 3,100 newly registered accounts here at Eater. Some of those were spammers or confused scammers, but many of those were new, contributing members. Welcome to Eater! It's nice to have you here.

Here are some other notable moments from 2017. This isn't an exhaustive list - we welcome you to post your own favorite moments, accomplishments or anything we missed.

Eater isn't just a website, it's a community. Thank you all for being part of it!

Happy New Year 2018!

January 2017 - Eater kicks off the new year by being hit with wave after wave of spammers.
January 19 - Eater makes a move to a new server resolving many past issues.
February 13 - Eater and ScamWarners lost our beloved pooch, member, and moderator Capone.
May 2 - After over ten years of work, the Lad Deck is completed.
May 16 - woody999 is promoted to Eater Associate. He still doesn't know what this means, but he's received the designation, regardless.
March 13 - A Fowl For Love is added to Eater's Greatest Hits.
May 25 - Padme joins the Mod team.
July 18 - 4X1X9 is awarded a
August 4 - Big X surpasses 15,000 sites killed and
gets a
September 4 - The woes of Mr. Hump Here are added to Greatest Hits.
October 24 - bobbybobby is awarded a
December 5 - Mountain Goat has, at least, two lads arrested in Germany
Throughout the year, the mods and Admins worked to clean up and update stickies. Additionally, some forums were merged due to overlap

Notable Acheivements:

Credit Card reporting summary:

During 2017, credit card reports continued to be submitted by baiters. While they were not at previous levels, recent focus by several members have put a spot light on these type of lads.

Bank Account reporting summary:

Eater members continue to grow their bank account reporting. The final count of bank accounts reported for 2017 is just shy of 3750.

Fake Site Summary:

Our site killers added 114 pages of threads to the offline fake sites forum in 2017. With 30 threads to an index page, and many threads having more than one domain on them, that is over 3,400 fake sites researched, reported, and killed with the help of members here.

Additionally, site killers began a concentrated effort on searching for "nests" of fake websites and taking out mass kills in one fell swoop.

Here's to even more lad pain in 2018.

I would also have to mention the Archie bait with Big X and Mr. Labowski; it is always impressive to see a TWAT monument be built, plus a safari to Niamey is always a bonus. And, to toot my own horn a bit, I would like to thank Lake Amour, Jayhawk, and the other members of Team Humphere for creating an absolutely incredible bait. Even though it only lasted a few months, what other lad would record 50 Shades of Grey, create a few hours of court testimony, have his keyboard catch fire, and travel to Cameroon? I quote from him:

and he said( tell that your friend and his friends that use to judge people not to maintain eye contact with that boy because if they do, he will be speaking through them and that is how he is going to get his freedom with out them knowing what happened) sir i was down and i keep thinking how this can be possible, but i did not tell you because i never had any access with me to email because after my pastor i never came back home till 8pm i have to go for an Eran for him and a job he is trying to get me and also if i told you , you will not believe me , and even me i don't believe that is possible with a mad man, and also it sounds like movie
