What's with so many lads beginning their e-mail with some variant of "your email was received and the content was noted"? Especially when they otherwise are already totally off the script and spiralling out of control, they still always remember to include that. |

It's actually quite common in international correspondence to say something with the words "well noted". It indicates to the other person that you read what they wrote (true or not) so that the next phase of "business" can continue. I work with a freight forwarder who does this frequently. |

I do get a chuckle yes. There's also the fact that different cultures communicate *extremely* differently, there's the old saw about Western communication being very straight and to the point whereas Eastern communication is more roundabout, and in many cases thats true. What "well noted" really means in a sense is, "OK great, let's move on," from either perspective. |
