Hi all. Been scambaiting on and off for a few months now but new to the forums here. It's certainly been entertaining reading through past baits!

Just got an email in my inbox from a Google Feedburner subscription. No other email, no way to reply. Basically the content of the message was somewhere along the lines of, "malware in porn website, malware hacks contacts, and if you don't pay me $350 in bitcoin I'll send the contacts recorded desktop footage." The scammer also claims to have a tracking pixel in the body so he knows when the email has been read, but a quick check in plain view proves that isn't the case.

The only thing I've got for this one is the bitcoin address. Is there a way to get these shut down? Or is this sort of scam just something to ignore?

There is no way to shut down a Bitcoin address or even for anyone to find out who owns it or where it is. Can you tell anything about the email from the headers?

I got the same thing to a few of my catcher accounts. The headers don't show anything, as it is a subscription to a Feed and comes from Google Feedburner.

There's no reply to address or any way to contact the scammer, who is just hoping that a few victims will believe him and will send the "money" (and (unless he used the wallet for something else) it looks like he's made about $1,000 out of it in the last couple of days).
