I've been baiting phone lads for a few weeks now, and killing their fake sites when I find them. One great thing about phone lads is you don't need to take your time baiting them, and another is they're easy to steer away from MG/WU. They give up piggies readily. Not only that, if you say you're in the US they'll almost always give you a US piggy. If you say you're in the UK you'll get a UK piggy. You get the idea.

So, the other day I found a fake online phone shop, gathered evidence against it, got it listed at AA419 and reported it to the registrar and hosting provider. Last night I went back to poke around a bit more, savouring the idea that this little blight on the internet will soon disappear. As I was clicking and scrolling, a little chat applet popped up and the following conversation happened. It's not an exciting chat, but it's typical of what my phone lad baits look like (except it didn't happen over email).

The scammer has since sent me an email. He'll do that every day until he gets his money. In another day or so I'll write back to him and tell him the transfer failed. We'll go back and forth on that for a bit, but in the end he'll give me another piggy - phone lads almost always do. I'll rinse and repeat until he quits. Very Happy

Clear and concise baiting. The lad should be thankful you did not waste too much of his time. Well, then again there is that issue of his website and bank accounts. Sometimes it just sucks to be a lad. Thank you baitingfuriously.
