Guys, this is an odd one. My business just received an odd email and I immediately thought of checking in here (it's been awhile...). Here is the email:
| Quote: |
XXXXXXXXXXXX <[email protected]>
10:14 AM (8 hours ago)
to XXXXXXXXXX, me, laura, steve
Name * XXXXXXX
Phone Number * delete
Email delete
Brief description:
My Nut Broke and it runs on water |
The email was sent to my company with my home number as a reply contact number as well as an rarely used company email address of ours as a email address to reply to. Very odd, probably not a scam but if anyone can explain it will be someone here. Thoughts? TIA.

Wufoo looks to be in the business of creating website GUI stuff.
Some of those fields look like they were populated by someone trying to "unsubscribe" from something. The "Brief description: " reply looks like something somebody would type then they are pissed at the computer.
It looks like no scam I've ever seen before.
My best guess, based on what I see? A bad merge job from some company that had your business contact info and sold it to a marketing firm and it is some kind of spam gone awry. Send an ASEM from a baiting account and see what they say.
Edit: spelling |

I'm in the service business and the brief description section of the email is were the potential customer inputs the issue that needs attention. But to use my home phone number is weird. I suppose the email is most likely spam.
Good to stop in here, it's been awhile. Time to check out the latest baits. |

Ha! No. If you're interested in getting me started here again, trying to set up a baiter account but it isn't easy. Any advice? TIA |

Gmail's pretty good. It does ask for a recovery phone number, but last time I opened an account, I was able to leave it blank. |

I think Hushmail still offers free accounts, I've had good luck with them.

Thanks, I usually keep a personal and business gmail account open at all times but probably won't confuse Google to add another. Cannot get box.com or outlook to send a confirmation. |
