Welcome EasyG.
I've moved your post into the main scambaiting forum.
Often the sms scams are "phishing" attempts: trying to steal your details for the purpose of bank/credit card fraud and/or identity theft.
If so, these are not the kinds of scams we deal with here as they cannot really be baited - usually their websites are very short-lived and may also contain viruses, malware and so forth. And they don't answer messages, just send out vast numbers of messages in the hope of collecting bank/card details.
It sounds like you might be talking about one of these - do feel free to send me a private message with the details from the SMS if you'd like further confirmation about this one.
Other email scams like the ones our users publish in the Surplus forum are very suitable for baiting and can provide hours of fun. |

Hello EasyG! I second what firehouse5 said, but I would also add something regarding the SMS scams - unless you are using any sort of anonymous number (be it prepaid anonymous sim-card, or virutal numbers), I recommend avoiding SMS scams you get as those people might have your phone number than can be potentially linked to your real life details. Remember to stay safe! |
