my lad is now calling me a joker and timewaster

had him 3 months now and got him to call Lenny twice. but recently I wanted a photo of his gold next to today's newspaper to prove he still had gold in stock and that's when he started calling me a timewaster.

yet he is still replying to me and is now offering me a "second chance".

It's as if he almost knows I'm a baiter but isn't 100% sure so is continuing in the hope I do turn out to be a victim even though the chances look slim.

If he knew for certain he would never get anything from me I would never hear from him again right?

I wonder if we are causing the lads any mental anguish by having them wonder "is this or is this not a real victim?" Laughing

You cause GREAT MENTAL ANGUISH by forcing them to doubt whether you are a real victim or a baiter.

Perhaps more importantly, you may cause a scammer to be paranoid with a real victim, possibly saving a real victim from being scammed!

My usual way of thinking is that if he's still answering, the bait is still alive. Maybe on life support but still worth a try.

In some occasions name calling is ok in baits, as long as it's consistent with your character and you're not using it as an excuse to "burn" the bait.

I agree with everything above. Lads treat scamming like we treat a job. He is upset, but probably wouldn't be bothering to get back with you were he certain you are a "joker"
I like the idea of telling him you are now thinking about dealing with someone else. He is far more polite, easier to get along with, and is offering a better price. Make up a suitable ladish sounding name or get one of another email. If the bait folds, resist the temptation to burn the lad. Always leave them with a bit of doubt in themselves.

It looks like he's 99% sure I'm a timewaster now. I'm thinking while he still has a little doubt I should drop the bait at this point? It looks fragile enough where I might say something that makes him certain I'm a timewaster, then of course he might use our correspondance to look for timewaster clues and thus become a better spammer.

What do you think? And how do you think an actual potential victim might react if they were called a timewaster/joker?

Maybe drop him for a while then come back with a lame excuse and try to start up again?

Sometimes a bait is just over, though as long as he keeps answering you can try to keep needling him in the hope of a big explosion of rage.
