Hello,

I'm Igott@ Hardick (not my real name, obviously and I used the @ to hide handle because that's my scambait name too).

I knew someone who fell victim to a scam like this in college, and I have received countless messages and phone calls from the "IRS" "Wealthy Nigerian businessmen," and "Banks" who want to offer me lower credit interest rates.

Finally, I decided that something should be done, and why not have some fun with it?

Recently, an email for a 35 million dollar business deal popped up in my inbox, as well as an email from someone wanting to "rent" my apartment. I'll post the email threads when they're done Razz

Also, once I've scambaited, is there any way to turn them into authorities?

Welcome to Eater! Nice to see you're baiting safely with none of your RL info. We encourage members to pick screen names that are unrelated to their baiting characters as well.

Unfortunately, the authorities are seldom able to do anything about 419 scammers-the lads tend to be in another jurisdiction and West Africa, China, Malaysia and other countries with scamming communities have their own problems. We do, however, report bank accounts used by lads or their mules and have had success in shutting down their financial access.
