IRS scammers

So i am completely new to this site but I have been recently targeted by an IRS scam where I receive calls and voicemails claiming to be from the IRS telling me that I have been charged with multiple federal criminal crimes and will be arrested unless I provide my personal information and pay them. I know its a scam but it really bothers me how threatening they are and how so many elderly people probably get threatened and bullied into paying them. Anyways, I was fueled by anger and trying to find a way to get back at them, even if its just calling and wasting their time, and I found this site. Maybe you guys know what to do. I would love to find a way to send a virus, instead of money, and bring them down or at least cause a little ruckus.....

Here are the numbers that have called me so far, and yes, when i call them back i get a real person with an accent claiming to be from the offices of the internal revenue services (in order from most recent to oldest): redacted-Capone

Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done against IRS scammers, for safety reasons.

Sending viruses is illegal in any circumstance, you know.

no, i did not know, i mean, i guess i figured but what are they gonna do? Report me for being onto their scam?

I guess i just figured i'd put it out there and just see what happens. If anyone is bored and wants to kill some time by wasting the scammers time, at least that's time that they aren't calling other people who might not know better.

Why are the IRS scammers different then others?

Hi Krys, welcome to Eater.

I hope your screen name has nothing in common with your RL details? One of our biggest rules is to bait safe- which means don't use accounts associated with your real life accounts and never use your personal phone. Which is why baiting these scum bags is a bad idea-they already have your RL info and can become not just a PITA but a serious risk.

I agree: what these dirtbags can do to the elderly is horrible. Which is why something else we preach is education. Why don't you take a stroll to our sister site, ScamWarners and post the info you have?

We can't really bait these guys, they are working in a call center on skype or other arrangement and if they get tired of talking to you, they hang up. No emails, time wasting etc. And they aren't 419.

I don't mean to be a buzzkill but I edited your first post. We have periodic problems with people posting email addys or phone numbers that are their exes or bosses.

no worries, krys.kayman is a fake name i made up for this site. And no worries about the edit, i was unaware that the IRS scammer had already been discussed on this site.

There ARE plenty of scammers that we do bait. Take a look around and you might find one to your taste.
