Well Football season is a few months away (or as you fans of proper football refer to it: hand egg ball) and I was thinking of starting a fantasy league for baiters. This would be my first time starting a fantasy league and I could not think of any group of folks I would like to do it with more than the good folks from eater (insert joke from TMF or JustCold here.) In any event, before I start the legwork on getting this done I just wanted to gauge interest to see if anyone is interested.
Also just as a side, there is a special way I am going to be determining draft order and the name of the league. Even if you don't want to participate, this is open to you as well. In order to tie this into baiting what I want to do is encourage all the baiters out there to get their lads to create the trophy that the the winner of the fantasy football season would get.
The trophy must be homemade but it can be a cup, a carving, a plaque, a championship belt, a medal, or anything that would be worthy of a fantasy football winner. It can be made of wood or metal or stone. The only real criteria I ask for is that it be the byproduct of lad pain.
So if you are interested in some fantasy football this season or interested in procuring our trophy by lad pain please post or PM me and let me know. |

What a great idea!
I do love me some hand egg but I have seen way too many friends turn fantasy football into a second job. I've already got one career and a hobby (*ahem*) that takes up far more of my time than it should so I'll have to pass on the league part.
However, I'm more than up for causing some lad pain in a support role! |

Well if you change your mind, there's a slot open for you. However if you want to otherwise assist by procuring the trophy from one of our many, many willing lads then at the very least you can decide draft order and name the league. Anyone else interested? |

So a Colts fan...well the only thing I have to say to you is do you want to trade Andrew Luck for Johnny Manziel? He's the life of the party and you guys need that more than another ring. If you're open to that one then how about Andrew "Butterfingers" Hawkins for Reggie Wayne?
Well suffice to say I am a supporter of the only team in the league that can screw up a logo and uniform change in one year:

We still have one of my favorite party people!

Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee has been arrested on suspicion of public intoxication this morning after he reportedly took a predawn swim in the Central Canal in Broad Ripple.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to the canal at Broad Ripple and College shortly before 5 a.m. after a report of a man swimming in the canal of the popular nightlife district.
A 911 call was received about 4:45 a.m. this morning from a woman who said a wet, shirtless man tried to get into her car at a traffic signal at Broad Ripple Avenue, according to WTHR (Channel 13). The woman said he had βblond, shaggy hair wearing jeans,β and that he βlooks like heβs freezing.β
βI think heβs out of it,β the caller told the dispatcher.
When an officer asked McAfee where his shirt was, he replied βIt is in the water,β police reported, according to WISH-TV.
Asked by police how much he had to drink, McAfee said βA lot cause I am drunk,β according to the report.
McAfee told police he had been waiting for a ride home, but had decided to take a cab instead. He then asked if he could walk home, according to the police report, WRTV-TV reported.
βI know I am drunk, but does that mean I cannot walk home?β McAfee asked police, according to the report. |
But, he's turned things around a bit...
Simply beautiful.
His twitter feed is hilarious as are appearances on syndicated radio shows. I'll take his party over Johnny Football's.

I'm in if the bureaucratic details allow (specifically what would be the timing requirements for the draft)! |

I'm down, but it would be a bit difficult getting everyone together for a draft. Maybe do a round a day or every other day. That way everyone has time to put in their next pick. |

Great suggestion! I will do my best to implement that. So far we have me, bware419ers, Fryer, and Ser Davos. Hopefully we get a couple of others so we have a league. If anyone else is interested this is your chance to get in on the ground floor. |

Sorry for the double post, but I have the league mostly set up. As far as the draft goes it will probably be easiest if we do it here. I was thinking of doing a 14 player roster (9 starters and 5 bench spots.) The 9 starters will consist of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Kicker, and 1 Team Defense/Special Teams.
So if we do a 14 player roster, ideally I'd like to do 2 draft rounds per day that way we have our teams drafted in 1 week. This is coming along quite nicely and if anyone else is interested, please let me know. I want this league to consist of 10 teams so we still have 6 spots to fill.
Also one last thing. As we are all baiters, I would like all the team names to center around baiting. For the team names you are allowed a location and a team nickname. So for example with the Cleveland Browns, "Cleveland" would be the location and "Browns" would be the nickname. For team location, you can choose any city in West Africa where we bait from. For Team name, just relate it to baiting. So if you like baiting Senegalese love lads and are so inclined you can name your team the Dakar Darlings. Do you bait NOK scams? Well then your team should be the Abuja Barristers. Do you want to pay honor to a baiter or a bait? Well then it sounds like you might be the proud owner of the Skeleton Coast Shivers. In any event, just have fun with it.
Lastly, remember that whoever can procure the trophy for the winner of the season gets to determine draft order. So please post or PM any questions or requests to join the league to me and I'll be happy to answer them. |

The only way that I can see 2 rounds a day as feasible would be if we sent a pm with our top 3-5 picks and the highest remaining player is the one drafted in that round. Since we keep different hours it would be difficult to log in at the proper time to make a selection. Of course we would need someone who isn't playing to receive and post the selections.
And I love the team names. I'm definitely leaning towards South African Ssd since that's where most of my flags come from. |

Well that makes sense. I want to maybe shoot for a draft day via Skype, but if that proves to be unfeasible then the scenario where we PM 3 to 5 picks to a disinterested third party who then chooses the highest remaining player at that draft pick would work. Thank you for the great Plan B.
As far as team names go I am really leaning towards the Skeleton Coast Shivers. But on that topic what are the "Ssd's" in South African Ssd? It is an acronym I am unfamiliar with. |

So at this point the league is all set up and I have sent everyone that expressed interest in joining a PM. If anyone else is interested, I was hoping to have 4 or 6 more slots available so please let me know if you are interested and feel free to ask any questions and we can go from there. Just don't miss out on making your next football season a memorable one. |

Finally got caught up on the thread. A round robin draft over so many days (per Ser Davos suggestion) makes the most sense given the different locations/times of everyone. That would also make an earlier draft (like next month) reasonable if not necssary. I should be available in the coming weeks/months as long as I know the proposed schedule.
It's always a battle to get through a draft when you can't get everyone together personally.
When you can get everyone together personally it's always a battle to get through the hangover!
Oh, and go Niners (although I don't expect much from them this year).... |

Louisiana eggs are by far the best. Of course this might just be because you can order a beer to go with your breakfast. |
