Hi there,

I'm brand new to this community but I think I'm ready to claim a "piggy".

I have been looking for a new place to live with my fiancee. When we were targeted by a property scammer I began to lead them on. Today I got curious if other people were doing this as well. Come to find, there's a whole community.

The scammer just gave me their bank account info when I said that I wasn't close enough to a WalMart to send a moneygram...

Let me know what I should do from here on out.

Hi UL, welcome to 419Eater. To report a bank account and have it flagged for fraudulent activity, you need to message a moderator (the guys in green) with the account details to have it flagged for fraud.

Once you have done so, you can officially add a pink piggy bank icon to your sig line, if you wish - to do so simply add the following in your profile:

I take this to mean that he has your real life information. If so, please drop him immediately. We make a very big deal here about 'baiting safe' -- which means simply that when you deal with scammers, do not use a name or email that in any way can trace back to your real life info. These are criminals, after all, and they don't like losing time, money or resources. Scammers are often connected with other low-lifes around the world so don't take chances. Unfortunately there are more than enough scammers out there so it you drop one you can pick up another all too quickly.

Please take a moment to read the FAQs, and some baits in the "Greatest Hits" forum, and then set up a new persona and email address, and have at it!

I led him to believe that someone else advised me that he was trying to scam me, then stopped responding.

I sent a message to a moderator with the green name about 2 days ago, but the message seems to be stuck in the 'Outbox' as opposed to the 'Sentbox'.

PMs stay in the outbox until the recipient opens it, then it shifts to the sent box. So your PM is not stuck, whoever you sent it to simply hasn't checked PMs yet. Wink

But feel free to send it again to any one of us in green or red.
