So I have my lad off script! I am a business man who suppiles canaries to European mines to check for gas leaks. I have send pictures of specific breeds of canaries that I need and of course my lad can supply the for €1000 each. I consider this a bargain!

Any ideas of where to go cause I have him hooked!

of course you need a testbatch of canaries. at least 10 birds should do it.

it's important to know if those are european or african canaries, and what the maximum air speed of an unladen canari bird is Wink

he should send you pictures of the birds. and there are forms, forms and more forms. are the birds healthy, do they carry any diseases, maybe get them to play the dead parrot sketch...

It's also very important that these particular canaries are "Safety Certified". Otherwise they will be worthless in the mines.

very important: video footage of drop tests. one lad should be on the roof of a house, at least 5m high. and then drop the canari bird onto the ground. if the canari escapes, the test needs to be repeated.

EDIT: since you don't want them to free birds which usually don't live in west africa, maybe special west african chicken will do it too. but they shouldn't undergo the drop test, they might not be used to use their wings.

I have a set of forms somewhere for importing animals into the various EU countries, I'll see if I can find them over the weekend and upload them somewhere.

They're all in the native languages of the particular country and state that they need to be completed in the same language, so you could force him to spend some time translating and completing them. Should be a nice lot of time for the lad spent on Google translate or even better paying for them to be translated.

What sort of PPE do these canaries come with? Hi-vis? After all, the last canaries fell of the proverbial twig due to low lighting and a deranged coal cart driver name Indiana Jones smashing them as the canaries tried to cross the track. Laughing

Great news! I love all the canaries! Sorry not
to have been in contact but there had been some deaths in a mine in western Siberia when my canary refused to die when the gas came into the mine. I executed that canary for not falling down on the job! 4 good miners are dead and I had that canary killed and then took out his entire family. I burnt down his cage and the cages of his brothers. Anyway, I am now in need of replacements. I can come down to South Africa to collect them, but need you to fill in some animal import forms so I can get permission from the EU . I can add €1000 to your fee if you get these forms back in 24 hours? I am importing through Finland, so you will need to fill them out in the native language.
