How can they carry on getting away with it?

I know I have not been on here for long but can somebody help me answer the following which has been really bothering me.

Freeola have registered britishintelligence.co.uk (along with hundreds of other misleading domains) and anybody, in any country can have a free, anonymous, @britishintelligence.co.uk email address

as in the recovery scammers here:-

(These guys are even giving a 070 number)

Freeola Limited are a UK company registered at Companies House, and I would therefore assume come under UK law, so why can't they be forced to close down the email addresses being used fraudulently? And if they didn't know what these addresses would be used for, why does the host for britishintelligence.co.uk sit right in the middle of Whitehall?

Unfortunately Googling britishintelligence.co.uk brings up GCHQ at around result 4, giving it some credence.

To be honest, I can't believe that the real Intelligence services have not driven up to Braintree and knocked on Freeola's door.

Assuming they don't, perhaps somebody on here could make use of their @vicars.info domain for £9.99 a year Idea

Money explains why Freeola are doing what they are doing but the bit that I do not understand is why the 'authorities' do not intervene. [email protected], [email protected] and +44-7031-941-224 are all clearly being used to commit a crime.

Mind you, perhaps Google will now pick up this thread showing them for what they are

"British Intelligence" is not a Trademarked term, so there is no legitimate reason for the authorities to require Freeola to stop using it as a domain name and offering email addresses with it. In the same way that diplomats.com is freely available and abused.

The email addresses and tel. no will shortly be getting more publicity, so that anyone searching them will know that they are used by scammers.

I am not disputing anything.anything is fair game (other than trademarks) but how about:-

"Dear Freeola

Your hosted email [email protected] is being used by criminals for fraudulent activities. Please hand over any logs that you may have and then hand over the password to access this account.

Otherwise you will be prosecuted for aiding and abetting

I'm sure that if a complaint was made to Freeola, the email address would be shut down and with the required subpoena, they would hand over all the logs etc.

The same could also be applied to Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL, mail.com, etc. they all have email addresses being used for fraud.

Yup, all email address could be used for fraud, but my point is how so very irritating it is that all the boys and girls on here are doing their (unpaid) best to close down these crooks but, even when handed to them on a plate, the authorities (paid) do absolutely nothing. They are probably too busy hounding and fining people who are a few days with their tax return, or brought 100 too many ciggies through Dover to go after the scum conning old ladies out of their life savings.

Anyhoo, I'm in the middle of my research and Due Diligence before I leap in to bring some pain to the lads.

Jess, I share your frustration - it's why I typically bait romance lads claiming to be military.

A very useful skill in baiting is knowing your battles, and focusing on those that can be won. Baiting lads is a HUGE time waster for them, and the more you can lure them into a bait, the less time they have for victims.

I currently have one lad on the hook who will create an email address for just about any "official" name I throw at him. Example:

I would love to send you that money, but Barrister Hooper said I need to be cautious.

Within a few hours, I'll receive a note from "Barrister Hooper" telling me how wrong he was to advise me to be cautious, and that the other email address is legit.

I have coerced this lad into creating nine new addresses, and I am randomly sending emails to each, asking questions about the others and whether I can trust them. The lad now has to log into 9 accounts to find my latest emails, and sometimes it takes him days to get back to me on certain accounts. His Western Union pleas all point to a lad in Nigeria who also works for a cabinet company (Facebook is a wonderful thing) so I know he's probably spending every free moment creating and monitoring email accounts to convince me to send money. I will hit the one year mark with this lad on the 14th!

So:

Be angry, but channel that energy into conviction and determination, and make those lads cry!
