A recovery scam dropped into Dan's email the other day from Samuel. He want to help him recover his lost funds, which is great news, because Dan has lost a lot of money to scammers over the years...

My company was scammed last year. A man offered me a business deal where I would buy some chemical and he would wash money. I sent this man $65,000 and he ran off with my money and I never heard from him again. He was an African man, but I don't know anything about him. I think he lied about his name.

Can you help me recovery my money? Where are you located?

A few boring cut/paste emails. He finally gets off script and Dan explains more about the money that he lost:

I do not have any of the emails from him. This has been over a year ago now. What happened was first I tried to buy some gold from a man who said he was in Ghana. I wired him two payments totaling. $110,000 for 5 kilograms of gold bars. I was told that he would ship them to me after payment was received. He even sent me pictures of his gold mine. But then after I paid him he went silent and I never heard from him again!

Then a few months later, I was contacted by a man who found my company on the internet and said that he had a business proposition for me. He had some money that was smuggled out of Libya and it was black and inky and it required a special chemical to clean. I agreed to buy the chemical to clean it and it cost me $65,000 to clean. But after I made payment I never received my money! I now believe that these were both the same scammers who did this to me. I am so mad I paid them $175,000 total and never got even one dollar for it!

Do you know who these people are who did this to me? I want to catch them and get my money back!

Samuel pushes for banking information of the scammers. Several more boring emails:

We wait your urgent respond to enable us do what is necessary for you to recover your money back.

Dan again explains how much money he lost, just to remind him that he is dealing with a very rich mugu. Dan also mentions that he a trusted lawyer from Nigeria has been trying to help him recover his funds:

I have been working with a man named Barrister Kofi. He has been trying to help me figure out who these fraudstars are! His fees are very expensive but he is a very well respected lawyer in Nigeria and he assures me that he can help. But he has not yet recovered the funds yet and he is very expensive!

Are you also going to help me? I lost $175,000 to them and now I am having to pay more fees to Barrister Kofi this is all very frustrating!

Of course, Dan did not get this warning. Gomer has harked his box, and deleted the warnings that the lad sent. Then he emails the lad:

I have to say I love taunting a lad from the victim box, it also saves having to open up a new email with a new "character".
