My Dear Friends

I believe I may qualify for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as my Scammer wants me to pay $2,221,000.00 (yes two million two hundred and twenty-one thousand US Dollars) to cover the storage fees of his client's "Family Treasure" which has been in storage since 2003!

can anyone beat this?

I think you can haggle a bit but this is just for wasting his time. Main purpose is to get as many piggies from him. I think you should ask how you are supposed to pay him. Obiviously this isn't possible by WU or MG so bank to bank transfer is the only option. Also there is the problem of certain anti-money laundering laws so any sum over 5K requires an explanation or it will be confiscated. You should try to make the payment in sums smaller than 5K so you are going to need a lot of accounts.

Also, do let him know that you prefer european banks as they are more reliable.

If your lad wants you to pay $2.2MM, how many billions of dollars is his "Family Treasure" worth?

And, yeah, I agree with Leka. This is far too much money to risk going thru WU/MG. Lots of little bank transfers is the only way to transfer the money safely and without calling undue attention to yourself from Homeland Security's anti-money laundering crew.

I am guessing that a lad dumb enough to ask for 2.2 million doesn't have 1100 bank accounts.

How about sending a photo shopped receipt for the full amount? Then of course the bank denies the transfer because the receiving account isn't set up to handle that amount of money.

I've yet to come across a lad with 1,100 accounts. But, it wouldn't stop me (or winking boy up there...hi JustCold!) from going after every last one he could beg away.

You could also add realism to your arguments. It is a huge pile of money afterall. Banks certainly wouldn't like people walking around with sums like that.

just as an idea.

if he demands 2.2 millio $, and if you tell him, that you can send that amount to him, he should be quite motivated to jump through every fire-loop available.

rent a plane, fly to him... sadly, due to the weather, you had to land early, and the pilot had to meet another appointment, leaving you stranded.

then he has to move... basically an instant safari.

if he does not move, and brings in a friend, tell him that you've met him but sensed some dishonesty. this way, you - the victim - prevented him from being chopped, and sees no other choice than moving. Wink

UPDATE:

Due to problems with the Bank Transfer, I was only $2.199,000 short, they have accepted an initial payment of $220,000, subsequently reduced further to $25,000 so the Diplomats can bring the consignment of "Family Treasure" (I forgot to mention the trunk contains $40,000,000). At this rate they will soon be offering me money to take it!
