I applied for a loan from them last week and someone contacted me last night about it.(yes I realize if I applied I should've done some homework on them) I was recently scammed so now I'm super cautious, no more giving people the benefit of the doubt. Anyhow, when they called it was from a private number, which I thought was odd. I asked why and they said they're a private lending company and dont want their number available to everyone, hmm ok.
Here's the link to their site they sent in an email(I found them on kijiji):
https://www.vcita.com/v/df14873c91f8faca/home?flow=Email_Action&flow_action=view_online&flow_origin=sent_notification#/
No FAQ, contact us or anything like that. Maybe I'm being over paranoid but that's why I came here =) thanks in advance guys! [/u] |

It's a scam - there's no such thing as "private lending companies" - legitimate lenders are businesses and would be happy for their number to be publically available. Also, real lenders don't advertise on sites like Kijiji.
If you can't get a loan from your own bank or other legitimate lender in your own country, then no one else is going to offer you one - the only people who will say they can are scammers. |

Moved to Scambaiting General for exposure and to give our regular crew a chance to look into it. Welcome, Kokanee
eta: b8er is absolutely right in what he says. I have no doubt that this is a scam.
Add to this their website is a nonsense - https://www.vcita.com/ is a services hosting platform of some kind which offers free trials for client engagement/CRM purposes. It seems entirely legit, and has been used briefly for assiting a scammer. Can someone fire off a quick report to these guys please? cheers.
further edit: the site's index is at https://www.vcita.com/v/df14873c91f8faca/ - I suspect this is a free trial that the scammer has set up. the email is a free webmail, no proper domain, load of the usual rubbish. somebody can toss a match in it whenever they are ready.
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-891-1418 shows abuse from their phone number in relation to wierd "loan" offers. |

Welcome, Kokanee! I'm glad you figured out it was a scam before you sent them any money. (Lots of other folks probably weren't so lucky.)
However, please keep in mind that these people have your contact information and some of your personal information (depending upon what you gave them during the application process). Break off all contact with them and, if you released any financial information (bank accounts, credit card numbers, social security number, etc.) to them, contact your bank/credit card company/etc. at once!
Finally, since scammers tend to circulate email addresses of victims, keep an eye out for any other scams that may come your way. Within a couple of weeks, you may see emails offering to help you recover any money that you lost to the scammers. These are scams as well. |

Thanks a lot. Fortunately I've yet to disclose anything personal other than name/birthday, hopefully nothing happens. |

I was considering telling them I know what's going on, not exact details but letting them know I'm aware what they're up to. You say not to, will this upset them and cause them to retaliate in some way or something ? |

They lie for a living, if you accuse them of being scammers, then they will just deny it and keep trying to scam you.
Just delete their emails and don't respond to any further contact from them - leave them wondering why it all went wrong, rather than educating them by telling them you knew they were scammers. |

Chances of retaliation in a case like this are slim to infinitesimal.
Telling the lad you know it is a scam is just simply a waste of your time and energy. |

It might, but it will also educate them as to what is wrong with their approach. We strongly advise against letting scammers know how to improve their technique. |

No don't tell them you know its a scam, they can just change their scam details in a series of seconds, if we don't tell them we can warn other potential victims. |

I advise against it unless you're really sure of what you're doing.
Perdonally I just delete this stuff. |

I got the same email, was just about to post. I clicked play like an idiot, a separate tab opened up with my hotmail sign in and asked me to log in again with my password. Just closed it and went and and deleted the email(was using mobile) |
