Expanding slightly upon vx's earlier comment on writing patterns, West African English used by the lads includes interchangeability of grammatical tenses. For example,

"I will like if you can make the payment today..."
"Please let me know as soon as you have send the money..."

In standard English, both examples above would be seen as incorrect. In any case, a dead give-away that the lad is African.

Also, 419 apparently is, or at least was, one of the three largest industries in Nigeria, behind oil and timber, and its criminal proceedings a considerable economic aid to the country.
I cannot say how accurate this is, but I do recall reading it from more than once.

Two words run together with a period and no space are passed through unchanged by a machine translator.
