Hi,
just a short note, after my first bait, I was gone for some months (a month can be a short thing when you're busy). I kept baiting, but also was busy at work - currently doing training, and since the school year runs to an end and the annual test is scheduled, I keep my beak in my books....
So I won't be re-signing up for the mentoring program (i got kicked out , but I understand that, supply of mentors is scarce and mentees are many) but take a solo flight for now. Still don't know if I can bait regularly enough. Anyway, whoever got my spot, good luck and have fun, mentors are worth a lot.
Anyway, will publish my next bait soon.
Regards

Welcome back thePenguin!
Don't even get me started on how time flies when you're busy
Anyways, while self teaching is also a good way to pick up some stuff along the way, and the mentoring program is voluntary of course, I am strongly in favor of you signing up for it if you've never really been through it in the first place.
Even mentors are people with their own duties and obligations and it's all matter of communication, really. If you tell your mentor that you're currently busy studying and you won't be able to be around as much - it's understandable. Just let your mentor know and you'll find some common ground
Of course, should you decide not to sign up - the scambaiting help hints and tips is always down there for you |

Welcome back Penguin. The mentoring program auto-prunes inactive members after a while but you are of course free to sign right back up if you want to get back into baiting. Take your time and set your own pace.
As Mortal has pointed out, you can ask as many questions as you like in HHT, and us mods are on standby for anything else you think may be best discussed quietly - Or just read along with some current baits and have a giggle |

Mortal: IT business is one of these where you can spend months learning and not doing much else. Unfortunately, this learning phase isn't going to end soon.
No doubt that I'll sign up for mentoring once I find the time to really get into scambaiting. But currently, I feel like getting a mentor would be a waste of his/her ressources, as I can hardly find one free evening in a week where I can bait. I'd love to change that - but that isn't really possible.
SHH will be read and - if neccessary - written to.
Nailgunner: I don't blame you, it's only right. I guess a lot of people just walk away without saying goodbye and you -do- have limited ressources (=mentors). It's only right to allocate them the most efficient way - which isn't me, currently (gotta be honest about that). Anyway, I've got a recovery lad here that took the break quite impatiently (used my inbox as trash bin, one mail a week for three months). That calls for slapping!
Glad to hear I'm still welcome here. |

First off, welcome back.
Secondly, it really only takes a few minutes a day to bait. Read your mail in the morning and contimplate your response during the day and send it when you get off in the afternoon.
Finally if you have a question about your bait then post it in a thread or pm somebody here. Even if that person doesn't know the answer I guarantee they know somebody who does. |
