My 10 year relationship with Barrister A.D. (sandtimer in my signature) has slowed to a snail's pace after my only surviving character had a very serious health problem. In December he was still all about the business

I will be coming to u.k. Very soon.will you like me to deliver your consignment to you?

but when I eventually replied with a story of a significant health problem, his tune changed:

Early February:

Quote:

Sorry For every thing that have happened to you. I have expected to connect you while i was in U.K. but could not be able to reach to you not knowing that you were sick. Anyway i Will soon be coming to turkey For business and i Will try to visit U.K as well to see you. But i hope you are getting better now? Sorry my friend. I hope to read from you soon.

A week or so later I mailed him "from the hospital" and he was quick to reply:

...i pray that you Will recover in time. I Will be praying For Your urgent recovery.

I wait a while again, then give him a "gradually improving" message and he writes at the start of March:

Quote:

Thank god for your health.
How is every thing. I have not travel to turkey yet till end of this month. May be I will visit U.K. by then. I will inform you as soon as I visit.
Stay well.

Another week, another email of concern:

How are you doing? Hoping that you are getting better. As soon as I arrive U.K I will let you know. I wish you quick recovery . Hoping that everything is ok with you. My family is ok thank you and god bless.

and just this week:

Quote:

How is your health now? I hope you are getting better. I will inform you as long as I visit U.K. after our election this Saturday. How is your family 👪 hope that every body is fine thank God. Stay fit and god bless.

So it's now been three months since he's mentioned anything about our business together - but I think very telling how he keeps referring to his trip, implicitly reminding me that the trunkbox full of $$$$$$$$$$$ is nearly within my grasp.

I'm curious how long it will take him to try and get the "deal" moving forward again - or if we will just exchange weekly pleasantries about my nonexistent health problems and his nonexistent travel plans.
