Computer Virus scam with 800 number

I got a popup on my computer that said I had a computer virus, and that I needed to call this number 1-877-263-3844 to get it fixed.

They prey on gullible people and try to extort money out of them, to fix the problem for you.
I called, and the guy I talked to sound like he was Indian.
I told him that I only had $100 and he said that the cost was only $99.
He has told others that the cost was $250.

It would nice to devise a plan to tie up their phone lines.
