Hi all,
Have anybody experienced issues with Yahoo mail security verification? Since it is necessary to provide a mobille number and that I didn't want my account to be link to my private information, I used a free SMS online service to create the account, but now for some reason Yahoo want me to send another confirmation code to my mobile and it appears the number I was using is not longer working... As a result I lost all my ongoing baits. At least they were all kinda new...
What do you folks do when a mobile number is ask? Should I switch to Gmail for my next account, do they need a mobile number too? |

I've never used Yahoo mail so I can't speak to how their authorization works. Most of my characters' accounts are through gmail (and one or two in Outlook/Hotmail) and I've never had any problems with authorization. Plus, I know that gmail strips out all IP addresses, so it's a very safe way to bait.
If you lost any fun baits, do you remember the email addy/name of the lad? If you do, you can just email them from your new account and tell them that your other email was "harked", or just start with them fresh as a new character. |

Whether or not you are asked for phone verification can depend on the country you are logging in from (or the country on your VPN). For example, I am rarely asked for a phone number if I register in the USA, however there are other countries where I am nearly always asked to provide one. If you do not want to provide a cell number (which you shouldn't if your only choice is your personal number), then try signing up for gmail from a USA IP.
In terms of keeping your baits, for your future baits, there are email clients you can use that will keep backup copies of your email (but some of these do not allow you to hide IP) and gmail allows you to backup your entire account. |

I have Yahoo for my personal account, so I don't bait with it.
While I do have one character working out of gmail, I use mostly inbox.com -- free, hides your IP and is very, very user-friendly and silly simple to use. No phone number needed. You can have all the different addresses that you want. |

I had to make one for my IRL work(programming) and it said my real number is invalid(which is not) so it sucks, yeah. |

I'll switch to Gmail ... I wasn't sure about using it since my personnal account is with Gmail and it log automaticly on my browser, but I installed a new browser only for scambaiting so I'll be sure not to get mixed up in my accounts!
I had problem too with number Yahoo mail was saying was invalid even if they were working for other ppl... I dont plan on using Yahoo mail ever again..  |

That's what I did. I use gmail for RL but only in one browser (Mozilla) and then I have Chrome set up for baiting gmail and I use IE for my catching gmail. That way I don't mix them up. It's worked for me the whole time I've been baiting.
I had a RL email with Yahoo that I used for admin work, and I did authorize with my mobile but after a month it wanted me to reverify and it said it didn't recognize my mobile even though it was the same one I use to verify it the first time. I haven't used Yahoo since. |

I have an android device, so all my real emails come to the app, and I access bait related anything on a browser. |
