Dear All,
Very recently a registered member of 419eater.com was investigated after sending inappropriate private messages to other members. These messages were sexual in nature and the members affected found them intimidating and offensive. Sensibly, they took their concerns to the moderation team.
The member concerned has now been permanently banned from 419eater.com.
If anyone has concerns that they may have shared personal information with the banned member, or if you have received disturbing messages from them, please contact a moderator to discuss this.
Public discussion of disciplinary action is unusual here, but we feel that it is appropriate in this instance. The safety and security of our membership is our first concern, and we wish to make it known that victimisation and harassment will not be tolerated within the board environment any more than it would be outside it. Any similar behaviour will be handled in a similarly robust manner - If you encounter such behaviour, or anything else that makes you feel uneasy, please report it as soon as possible via PM. You have our firm assurance that it will be investigated fully.
Our often-quoted message about "baiting safely" rings very true at this point. We cannot screen everybody who signs up. We rely on members to manage their own information safely, and to report problems when they occur. While this is probably one of the safest, smartest and strongest communities on the internet, we cannot reduce the risks to zero. Please be careful who you share information with, here and elsewhere.
