A lad will usually prefer a WU or MG. What was the amount to be sent?

$250 will not, usually, get an account. Bump him up over a grand.

^^^It's surprising how many lads will hand over an account for a lot less than a grand. Stand your ground and tell them that you will not use Western Union under any circumstances and that the deal is off unless they provide a bank account. When the refuse, tell them the deal is off and then go silent on them (and write to their other characters as well expressing shock that they asked you to use WU) and lots of them will suddenly find an account that can be used.

many of the ones that don't provide an account reappear weeks later and the small fee has miraculously been paid and there's another larger one to be paid. Or there will be a new unconnected approach from the same lad (or someone he has sold all my character'set details to).

Well it is just a thought, you could stand your ground but if they still refuse, give "in" and send it via MG instead of WU and, of course, it will generate a KKSS security notice and every single form that MG has to offer them because it is a transfer in International Waters which is VERY suspicious, bet you get your piggly wiggly really really fast! Smile

Well, my fisherman went last week to two WUs which are both on the bay. The first told him they would not send money to someone at a bank. The second gave him a slip which, unfortunately, got a stain on the number. He told the lad a couple of garbled MTCNs, then on Friday he scanned it and sent it to the lad. The lad told him to go back and get the MTCN. So he went on Sunday and found it closed (it's closed both Sunday and Monday for MLK day). This week he can't go back because he's fishing the ocean, not the bay, until Friday.

So he can go back to WU on Friday and find out
*the actual MTCN
*that it's been picked up, or
*that they can't read it either, but they give him the money back.
What do you think?

Well, if I get a vote (I think I do?), I say it gets screwed up and chopped to bits! UNLESS you think he will actually fill out forms that is!

When they "work for/are a bank" I often question the fact that they won't give a bank account.

"If it is not safe, do you warn all of your customers on a daily basis?" Stuff like that.

At this point. I thank the Lad for all his help.

Then I tell him I found a new Lad with the same offer that is not making the transaction difficult. This new Lad will promises me the deal will be concluded in 3 days.

Think of the possibilities. You can send the old lad the new lads email address to confirm(which will be yours).

Another drool-starter is to tell the lad that the bank's minimum for a transfer is much higher than what he's asking for.

"I checked with the bank and the minimum amount I can transfer to your country is $1200. Since this is really my only option, would that work?"

As a few users have said anything over a £/$1000 should send him slavering as mine gave me the same excuse until I got the suggestion to offer $1500 which worked.
