Check Mule Scam targeting US Servicemembers

Good Morning - I searched for this scam on the forums, and didn't see it anywhere. It is a pretty blatant check mule scam, only it targets US Servicemembers who bank with USAA. The scammer wants your account login info, and then he\she uses the Deposit@Home function to deposit checks to your account. Then of course, you send his\her cut via WU\MG and wait for the check to bounce and leave you holding the overdraft.

The scammer is using stolen pics of a US Army soldier, and is mostly operating off of Instagram.

It doesn't seem to me as if there is much opportunity for baiting, as the scammer goes directly for your USAA credentials without much other conversation.

Guardians of Valor did a pretty good write-up on it, I thought you guys would want to look into it to.

Oh wow ... thanks for the heads up on this one. I just shared the GofV link with my husband. We hadn't gotten any kind of notice from the bank on it either. Scary!
