Interesting Dynamics Amongst Two Lads... Thoughts?

I was baiting one very young lad who needed to produce a security photo. When he was requested to do this he told me that it would be sent from another email, but told me never to reply to that email and only to reply to his. I assume the reason for sending the picture from another lad's email was that my lad didn't have the technology to upload a picture. The picture that was sent to me from the secondary email was a picture of my original lad. However, I won't go into details, but it was very obvious that the two emails were very different people. I kept the bait going with my original lad, but also decided to pry at the secondary email person. At first he didn't seem interested at all, I'd get short responses helping out the original lad if I even got a response at all.

I stayed in character and long story short, I ended up in a huge insult battle with the secondary lad (who, keep in mind, wasn't trying to directly get any money from me). We went on for like 2 weeks just exchanging the nastiest emails you could imagine to each other. I mostly did it to entertain myself, all the while staying in character. Meanwhile I was being very polite and continuing the bait with my original lad. Recently, somehow our insults morphed into an actual conversation where he started telling me about his life. My character softened and now this secondary lad has spun a story where he is trying to scam me.

Couple interesting points:
1. My new lad's email has a pic of himself wearing a bandana and links to his Google+ account, which lists his occupation as "Gangster".
2. My new lad claims that he doesn't really know the original lad, and that the original lad is just a Facebook friend.

I guess I am most interested in hearing thoughts about my 2nd point. I feel like they might be a little closer than just Facebook friends, because why wouldn't my original lad be able to send the pictures himself? (If they really were just Facebook friends, the original lad would need to be able to upload the picture himself to send it to his Facebook friend, who would in turn send it to me) The pics were definitely of my original lad, but came from the secondary lad's email. However, I actually do have a strong feeling that these two lads really aren't close at all as they don't seem to have a very strong working relationship. Thoughts about this meaner, seemingly more powerful, and older lad? Is he the Oga in his scamming network and my original very young lad is a newbie?

I don't think the Oga would get involved, or at the very least, since you were in an insult battle, I doubt he'd want to do "business" with you. His greed would motivate him to tell the other that you aren't who you say you are. If I understand everything correctly, I would say it's the other way around. Your original lad might be the more experienced one, and the secondary is the inexperienced.

They wouldn't want you to contact the inexperienced one, who might blow the operation out of the water if he wasn't ready. Also, while this might be ignorance of other cultures, in my experience, an older more experienced scammer would not refer to themselves as a gangster. They want to seem trustworthy, and that kind of title would turn off even some of the most clueless victims.

Let me elaborate a little more. I highly doubt the original lad is the leader because he told me that he was 18, but in his pictures that he has sent he looks more like 14. He looks like a boy, to the point where I have had reservations about even baiting him. I continued the bait hoping that maybe a bad scamming experience would turn him straight (unlikely I know).

Also, the secondary lad couldn't tell the original lad that I'm not who I claimed to be, because I have stayed in character the whole time. My secondary lad originally was a secretary in my original lad's bait. Even when I was exchanging insults with my secondary lad, I kept referring to how terrible of a secretary the secondary lad was (even though he clearly wasn't a secretary). So I never broke character, I just played the angle that I was pissed off at him. The humorous thing is that after some angry exchanges my secondary lad started writing things like "Who said I was a secretary?" He forgot that he himself had claimed to be a secretary a week before in the original lad's bait.

From reading your post, it sounds like you are dealing with two small bois, on perhaps more experienced. Nothing near where an oga would be involved. They're competitors.

Also I should mention, in both of my lad's gmail accounts they have profile pictures that accompany their emails. I'd never actually seen this before and didn't even realize it was a gmail feature. I'd normally be suspect about the pictures, but my original lad's security photos matched his gmail account photo. So I suspect their gmail account photos and Google+ profiles are their legit accounts. Maybe like Capone suggested, they are both just small bois that haven't figured out that it's best to take on an alternate persona.

They sound like small boys who may have a passing acquaintance and do small jobs for each other such as share photos, etc. Lads are very happy to chop each other.
