Well wishes to my baiter friends in its path. We are expecting up to a quarter inch of freezing rain....I would rather have a foot of snow.

Hope to not have this again.....

Not a local picture, but could have been for past ice storms.

The high up here in the Mitten was 4 F-freezing rain would be balmy.

^I can't complain about the temps Capone, but freezing rain is very destructive.

JC, we're in CT and square in her sights … Currently 0-feels-like-23-below and windy. Expecting 7 below by 06:00 tomorrow a.m. Snow starts 24 hours later …

I probably shouldn't talk about the high 70s temps we're having in sunny California for the past several days, and expected for the next week......

On the downside: severe drought. Nothing comes without a price.

Juan..we've had 60s and 70s more than a few times here lately. The trees are budding and plants are growing...a rude awakening is in store for them.

TBH I am looking forward to the cold more than the heat. I know I am the odd one out, but I find it easier to deal with. Laughing

That ice though, yeah that's bad if you have to be on the road.

Mmmmmm looks fantabulous, JC !!! It's so doggone cold here that the electric heat is struggling but still ain't keeping up. I can barely maintain the temp over 68 F in here.

The forecast says 7-12 cm of snow. That's for nearby Lake Bait. For my fishing family, it's 20-30 cm, but they already set out somewhere to fish.

We're already received 5 feet in the past several weeks -- other than shoveling the walkway and back deck, we probably won't even notice how much comes next ...

In Breezy Point, NY, it was 0 at 6:00am, with a gentle 15mph North wind. It has warmed up nicely now, to a balmy 7, with a lazy 30mph offshore breeze.

I am convinced that they named it Breezy Point, because; Gale Force Wind Advisory Point, would have been too costly to put on the street signage.

Jamaica Bay (also a poorly chosen name), is frozen solid from here to Brooklyn.

I'm really, really, missing Global Warming at the moment. Laughing

Cold and Snow can be bad but Freezing Rain is the worst and luckily we haven’t had much of it this Season.

As a Survivor of ‘Ice Storm 98’, I recall vividly how difficult it was for many and how entire Communities banded together to aid those in need. During that time I was one of the Lucky ones as I was paid not to go to work, heated with a Cook stove and had almost no damage to my property…other than the Tower antenna that smashed my Satellite Dish…Then we used Shotguns to take out dangerous tree limbs and ate Meat and lots of Meat as the Freezers were thawing and we Drank and Drank and well it was kinda fun really BUT not for everyone.

I'm back. It turned to a mixture of sleet and freezing rain, then all sleet. I came back the long way around instead of going through the mountain pass. I skidded a few times, but was in 4-wheel drive, so I didn't skid out of control.

We've gone from 74F to 36F, and still dropping. Expecting ice tonight. Check your sinuses at the door! I've got a stick and rubber boots at the ready in case electrical lines go down. Confused
