Hoping I'm not getting in front of myself. I sent a copy of this email to my mentor Duckling for advice but can't wait. It appears to be a scam sent to a seldom used email address we keep for communications with new employees. I changed the name a bit and removed the email info. I've been reading here a lot and am ready to get started baiting. Perhaps the opportunity came to me.

Probably a scam. If he asks you if he can use his 'own trusted courier service', then it's almost certain a scam.

but, whatever you do, do NOT use that company email address to bait!!

It is an easily abandonable geemail address. It's incoming emails are auto forwarded to our main email.

Even so, I strongly recommend not using ANY emailadress that could be even remotely linked to you or the company you work for.

Suggest you set up a dedicated baiter account and reply from there. He won't even notice probably.

First thing-do not reply from the address or any address that has RL info. Open a gmail address with no RL info, preferably one that kind of looks like a business- you have a products or cc lad on the line.

An excellent tutorial in baiting cc lads. You may or may not want to start with this one. Don't worry about a lad demanding an immediate reply-he'll wait until you talk to Duckling. There are also at least 2-3 cc lad threads going so you can have a gander at how other baiters are handling it.

Thanks. I have a couple of old rarely used generic email addresses (hotmail,yahoo) as well.

Thinking this as a starter. From a generic email address. I cut and pasted his header on a new email, then clipped the original address and inserted my generic one.

I would suggest creating a completely fresh e-mail. Not even using an old e-mail...you'd be surprised at what they might glean if you used ANY real info.
