De-Educated Lad?

I just started a new bait with a loan lad today. I feel like this lad may have been de-educated a lot along the way. First of all, her name is Mary Bear. I've never heard of someone with "Bear" as a last name unless they are a Native American. After a few emails back and forth she set forth the terms of the loan. The beginning of her message states:

I Mrs.Mary bear , the Managing director of Finance Company
PLC.. is giving out a loan of $100,000.00 to princess to the following
beneficiary:

I have no idea where the princess aspect comes into play. I don't believe that at any point has a princess been mentioned, and my character is a 58 year old man. Does the lad mean a different word when they say "princess"? Perhaps she means "in principle"?

Haven't run across either the name Bear or $100K princess... I say follow it and see where it leads... : )

I'm not quite sure the lad has been de-educated. It's quite possible your lad is just an idiot. (Not to say that's a bad thing.)

When your lad typed "princess" I think he meant to say "process". Although, if I were you, I'd run with the confusion on princess. Maybe your character can be rabidly homophobic and can get quite insulted that the lad implied that he is a queen.

Maybe not in english, but Estonian version of "Bear" is pretty common here

As TLH says, princess=process. So here's your change to pursue his de-education. Keep running with that and asking about when he will finish "princessing" your loan. Make up a few more of your own and maybe he'll sound like an even bigger idiot to potential real victims. Wink

Thanks for the replies! I definitely didn't correct "her" on her princess comment. I just went with it. I've also stopped calling her "Mary Bear" and have started calling her "Mare Bear". Hopefully she thinks that's a more suitable name for future potential victims. I plan on continuing the de-education of this lad. This question could probably be it's own thread, but are there any other common words you like to de-educate lads with?

LOL I've baited Mary Bear. I even have one of her malaprop quotes in my signature.

I don't believe (s)he's de-educated, he's just DUMB. He strikes me as being the kind of lad who would be perfectly at home at a level 1 call centre - just follows the script, and then deer in the headlights when pulled off the script. Have fun!

Every lad has their own unique idiosyncrasies but there are a few common malapropisms:

"find" = fund
"hark" = hack
"free" = fee
"informations" = information
"Am confuse" = "I am confused"

And, of course, there is the classic "stredded under hash conditions" Very Happy
