Has anyone else noticed an increase in magic spells?

When I first started out, the only emails I got were for loan companies. Now, it seems like once a week or so I'm getting another holistic medicine guy offering to cast a magic spell to make my penis longer or my uterus more healthy or to get the man of my dreams. Has anyone else noticed this or have I just been added to some mailing list for wizards?

I received a few of them, and to be honest, I thought that surely those emails must be a joke! Some of the things they listed were so absolutely ridiculous I though someone was messing with me. I started baiting him, and he mentioned that to pay for the "spell" he would put me in touch with a loan company. During the bait I read that we do not bait spell casters because animals could be harmed, in the slight chance it is a legitimate "spell caster"...whatever that is, and they actually try and cast a spell. I dropped the spell caster but continued baiting the "loan company," despite my suspicions being confirmed that the spell caster also had nefarious intentions...

Yeah, I was concerned about the animal hurting as well. I've gone to maybe email 2 or three with these lads just asking them for a quote on a spell of long-life for my cat, but I don't go much further than that because I don't want to think that a guy dried and smashed a frog in the hopes of making a quick buck.

In my early days here, I had missed the sticky about spell casters and started baiting one with a character based loosely on 'Mrs. Wilberforce' the old lady in the 1955 film, 'The Ladykillers'. The bait endured for about three months until I caught up with the sticky, as quoted above. At first I simply went quiet, but the spell caster persisted, so I killed off the old lady and closed her email account. I'm relieved to say that it had never reached the stage where he had got to work. In fact, she had insisted on collecting the specimens needed, and had told him that she had become so enthusiastic about doing it herself that she no longer needed his services.

While some of these are undoubtedly sketchy, one should never underestimate the capacity of a dramatic intervention of any kind to kick up a patient's immune system or at the very least their perception of their own condition. I can recommend "Bad Science" by dr. Ben Goldacre for some startling accounts of this. In many African cultures such an intervention may well have the desired effect, even if there is no physiological basis to it. Ritual and theatrics are very important in this context, and employed in Western medicine to a greater extent than you would at first believe. So there's the possibility of baiting someone who is actually providing a good service to his customers, besides the risks to humans and animals from the more gruesome practices such as the infamous "money rituals". Either way, we don't bait them, but the whole deal with ritual and theatre as a psychological tool so powerful that it can alleviate chronic pain, phobia or other fairly severe symptoms is very interesting from a social engineering standpoint, and well worth studying to see how it can fit in with baits or victim counselling.

Thanks for the quote , I just started to bait a spellcaster and he asked me to send him money to buy stuff for the love potion.

but a question remains:

what if a baiter baits a normal lad and simultanously asks a spell-caster about the spells he offers. just for the information about the spells available (since the spell-caster is an ITP).

and then send the lad the quote of the spell-casters (change his name) offers and tell the lad, that you'll take a very cruelty one.

this way, the lad will think that some genuine spellcaster wants to harm him, and no ITP was actually harmed (only a little time and effort of the spellcaster). this response of the spellcaster could be recycled over and over again, the baiter could even set up a fake-spellcaster email-account and get the lad begging for being spared (could even lead to weird trophies).

As far as spell effectiveness, and all that...belief is a heavy part of it. I know some wiccans and it's not so much what you use in a ritual as whether you BELIEVE in it. You could use the right color candles but if you don't believe in what you are doing, you will get NOWHERE.

Anyway...yeah. I'll agree with not baiting spell lads. The potential for animal harm is too great.

I just had a loan lad offer to put me in touch with someone who could cast good luck spells that made sure my loan was approved. I've never had that happen before. I simply told him that I prayed to God, who would take care of me, but thanks anyway. I admit I was tempted to at least have the spell caster send me his first email just to see what was in these good luck spells. I wouldn't have baited him.

I had a hit lad once, who changed script and was then a love lad with a priest and everything. Enter his 'magic man', who had been his barrister previously. Same lad playing all characters. I know we don't bait 'magicians', but I couldn't help myself -- his site went down in 24 hours.

I'm not sure who was more angry, the priest, the magician or the barrister. Laughing

I don't see a problem if a baiter wants to play a spell caster for a lad- that's where NailGunner's massbait was going. The prohibition applies to baiting one.

I've noticed a big increase in spellcaster emails in my main catchers as well - for a while I tried replying "NOT INTERESTED" but as usual, any response, no matter its content, is a sign of encouragement for a subset of email blasters like these.

I also get paper flyers from one or two local spellcasters offering very similar services - about one a month since I moved to my current neighbourhood a few years ago (the spellcasters don't distribute the flyers themselves, but hire the same guys who deliver pizza flyers and other local junk mail).

Could you reply back making out that you are a rival spellcaster not only prepared to uncut his prices and take his custom away, but chop the dollar on the loan side of things. Or just do a normal dolla chop.
