Hi all, just joined. I am Jas
Have a question.. is there a coder or programmer here?
Ive been looking for some free software on the net to simply display a red dot on top of a Google map that can be embedded in a website. The idea is to use a GPS tracking trick to make lads run around looking for something that isn't there.
If possible simple programming could be used to make the dot move whilst they watch it on the phoney website.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Tks Nailgunner, I did a Google search on the etrack.. by the looks of it that is an actual GPS Rx/Tx device.
What I'm thinking of is just a map of say for instance 'downtown Uganda' with a user positionable/controllable red dot that the lads can see on a website I created and direct them to. Then have them run around all over the place chasing it when in actual fact nothing is at the location.
ie: I would have given them the story that a locator beacon is attached to a bag of cash in the back of a taxi. The beacon sends its location data to the website, get to the dot get the cash kinda scenario. |

One of our esteemed veterans - Yeawhatever - had two baits in which a Lad was sent in search of a box of cash fitted with a GPS tracker. One was drifting down the coast of West Africa, and the other down the River Nile.
Check out "The Road to Abu Sumbul" and "The Road to the Skeleton Coast".

It's a good convincer. Like I said
I did something similar with a gmail auto responder, changing coordinates periodically as the lad mailed it repeatedly for updates. It got away from him, of course. The nice thing here was it was stupidly simple to do and put the lad to the added bother of doing his own coordinate translation. |
