First -- Important! Obfuscate the mugu's e-mail address in the posted material.

Second, consider introducing a second(or third, or fourth) character to add complications and confusion. Example -- original character's wife finds the e-mails on his computer -- the marriage is already on the rocks, so wife wants to "chop" the dollar - take over the transaction, and get the original character out of the way. Consider murder as a possible means.

Obviously, your original character could also have a clueless secretary, a conniving accountant, or a vindictive valet. Any of those people could be introduced into the bait to add complications.

Each character needs to have his/her own agenda (which will work at cross-purposes with the other character's goals) and his/her own unique set of psychological issues.<g>
