Hi, I'm new to this site, but my recently have been engaged in tracking and I just thought I'd enquirer if anyone else has come across this particular scam directly. I have gathered much information, emails, recorded conversations, and following the baiting principles of time wasting, I have numerous questionnaires that the scammer had filled out and pictures with my requests (not pornographic) just stupid stuff, I've tried to be as ridiculous possible to waste as much time as possible, and more recently, having given my home address(but not really, I gave Scotland in Victoria street, London as an address) to my shock, the scammer arranged to visit my home! A great deal of abusive mail ensued, which was hilarious. But in amount this, I managed to get a number of addresses from the scammer in the UK, one was quote near me, and I checked it out. Recognising one of the people from the pictures they had sent,, I passed this on to the authorities, hopefully some success will come from this.

The scam is an online lonely hearts site, after a great deal of arduous emails, which all come at the same time each day, the scammer, a Miss Lauren Harvey, announces she is taking an overseas trip, for business, whilst apparently in Egypt, her son, a 13 year old called Sam has an accident back home, and she needs to leave the country urgently, she requires £814.72, nice random amount, and of course she needs it transferred to a very spurious account, of course on the premise of collecting her from the airport and her returning the money to you.

She get very persistent once you express an interest, and I managed to get a mobile number, lots of texts (I have a PAYG mobile for these purposes, along with an alias email). It's a great scam, and as an IT professional, it was very interesting to see where all the spoofed ip information is registered (everything is UK registered, including the mobile phone). However, the payment setup is in Egypt, addresses range from Honiton in Devon, Birmingham and another in Surrey.

I will post some of the pics and emails, and also some of the audio for everyone's amusement, I'm getting my teeth into these types of scams, I'm sure these types of services perform a real and valuable function for the lonely folk out there of all ages and I'm sure many have parted with lots of good money, so I will continue to be a pain in their proverbial butts.

Hi ItCleaner and welcome to Eater! Good to hear that you're baiting safely with none of your RL information.

Please be very careful about having lads show up at locations near you. This is not considered a great idea. It's not unusual to have a lad use a money mule or bank account in another country.

If you have headers, sites, addresses etc, I'd suggest PMing a mod with the information. They have resource to forward the information to in the UK and elsewhere.

Could you post the emails with the header or the analysis? If they're are operating a site, there are people here that can make their day!
