Gmail + Iphone Warning

Hi guys,

Just warning you about something I've recently learned. Like I presume many of you may well do, I use gmail when baiting so as to mask my headers and add an extra layer of comfort to my activities. While this works from a desktop, apparently when using gmail from a mobile device such as an iphone the headers ARE included in the email after all for the area it was sent from or wi-fi network it was sent on.

This is bad news for me since the only email access I have during the day is through my mobile device. I'm genuinely peeved, since I'm now debating on dropping the current baits I have running, two of which are very promising and one which I have reason to believe will pay off in my first safari.

I gather there are workarounds for this, but I just wanted to warn everyone that simply using gmail won't protect you when going mobile. Also, remember to check your time zone headers...

I don't use the mobile app for baiting purposes, but it likely still will strip your IP if you access it through Safari on your mobile rather than through the email app.

iPhone also supports VPN access. I'll test mine later and see how it all goes down.

I wouldn't worry too much about email headers anyway. I bait from Yahoo all the time and none of my lads have ever noticed the IP isn't from the correct location. If they do, and if (big IF) they can even get my character to understand what an IP is, I'll tell them my ISP uses IPs from all over the country.
