*** Minor 1-character leeting (and name abbreviations) used to protect ongoing bait & popular modalities while avoiding server overload of masking.
E is an orphan lad who contacted me wanting to be adopted by American God-Parents. Too bad my character, Cl@ire, is dirt poor and couldn't afford the huge fees that would be necessary to do so.
But, she had a soft spot for Nigerian orphans so she agreed to put him in touch with her Pastor, Fr@nk. He is a pastor of the TW@T church and loves to help orphans as well. I wasn't sure when I created this character if I could steer this towards a TW@T bait or not, but wanted to try.
So when E emailed the pastor, he changed his story completely. Instead of wanting to be adopted, he needs funds to do the Lord's work in Lagos. Cool. I didn't expect it to be this easy to get him to switch modalities, but since he handed this to me on a silver platter I'm going to run with it.
That's the back-story. I'm going to post emails as I go along to (a) give new members an example of an ongoing bait and (b) to make it easier to publish when I get through with him. Also (c) in the hopes this could become one of the epic baits, but I don't know if I can pull that off or not . Input, advice, tips, ideas, etc. welcome.

Good Day Pastor F ,
My name is E from Africa Nigeria, C said i should write you,
About myself am a good person, i believe so much in God almighty through Christ his son.
I have dreams and goals i needed to do for God and humanity but those goals seems to be sinking daily cos it seems i might never be able to execute them,
But i said to God look you have given me a good and charitable heart please also give me the resources to do those acts of love and kindness you expected me to do.
Do you remember the story of the good Samaritan and Preacher of the law.
That's how things are mostly in Africa especially my country Nigeria.
Well let me stop here 4 now,
Thanks for giving me a listening ear and may God almighty strengthen you to do his work more and more in Jesus name. Amen

Hello E,
I have heard much about you from C . She is a faithful member of our organization and I am excited to hear from you in person.
First of all, please let me apologize for the delay in answering. As a Bishop over our regional chapter and an international missionary with [email protected]. I find myself pressed for time many days. I have been neglectful in responding to the many requests for assistance that I am in charge of and I truly pray that my delay has not been too discouraging for you.
I truly applaud the good things and goals that you have! It is always a blessing to God to be able to partner with loyal, faithful servents of the Lord in the many countries that our church seeks to serve. Just last month I was blessed to be able to present a check for $1 Million USD to our new partner in Tanzania.
I would be delighted to work with you in buildng a ministry in Nigeria. Where exactly in Nigeria are you located? And are you already a member of [email protected].?
Please do get back to me. I look forward to talking more with you about this.
In Jesus' Name,
Pastor F |

Dear Brother E,
I am pleased to hear that you are ready to join The W@tchtower @pocalyptic Test@ment chur<h in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ! However, it would be unfair of me to not properly introduce you to our church and what we stand for first. Please review our website, and if you are still interested in membership, let me know and I will walk you through the process.

Greetings Pastor F.
I have visited the church website and no doubt the church has a good goal toward the works of God.
I count myself look enough to have this opportunity to become part and parcel of this great church,
Please pastor what is the next step,
Here is my phone number feel free to call me anytime any day +[deleted]

Hello Dear Brother,
E, the next step if you are truly desiring to join our organization is to submit a short membership application so that our leadership can get to know you better. Please print the attached form, complete it, and then scan it and email it back to me. Please email it directly to me rather than faxing as directed on the form; there are thousands of applications daily from all over the world and faxing directly to the head office will significantly delay processing. If you send it to me directly, I will hand-deliver it to our church leaders and have it processed much faster.
In Christ,
Pastor F

So that's where the bait is right now. It's a bit of a variation from the typical script for TW@T baits, in the way that it began, but other than that I plan to follow the tried & true method and see where it goes. This is my first attempt with this modality so please wish me luck!
P.S. A special shoutout to the BRILLIANT creators of this modality and the extensive tools they gave all of us to work with. |

Now that he saw the ELEVEN PAGE membership application (brilliant!) he's starting to balk. I'll use reverse psychology and tell him I understand if he doesn't really want to serve the Lord. All while dangling that carrot of the "large sum of money" set aside to start a church in Lagos.

Dear Pastor
I have downloaded the form and it 11 pages,
I will like to know what will happens after i become one of you?

Brother E,
First and foremost, becoming a member of The W@tchtower @pocalyptic Test@ment is a personal decision to serve the Lord. It is not a decision anyone can make for you. Our church is primarily interested in partnering with people such as you who wish to serve others. The national organization provides training materials, volunteers, and funding for members who wish to start their own groups to serve people in need. I thought this is what you said you wanted to do. If you have changed your mind, I understand, though am understandably dissapointed. We only recently set aside a large sum of money specifically for the purpose of funding a partner-church in Lagos. I was hoping that you would be that partner.
Regards,
Pastor F |

That is good news, you guys could coordinate and back each other up. For instance, if you both ask him to send a photo holding a sign, then you can use similar reasons. New federal tax government regulations regarding donations to new members, for instance. Could help reinforce that everything you are asking, paperwork, photos, ceremonies, etc is normal for all churches. |

Lad is starting to balk. Apparently his last experience trying to join a church didn't go so well
I'm trying to bring him back on board by acting like I could care less if he twigs.

My Dear Brother E,
I am very excited that you have decided to move forward with becoming a member. Please get that membership form to me as soon as possible today so that we can proceed with the next step in the process. I am hoping to have you initiated as a full member by the end of the month so that we can start building the [email protected]. temple in Lagos in March. I will eagerly await your response.
Regards,
Pastor F |

Brother,
My number is (xxx)xxx-xxxx. What is yours? It may be easier for me to reach you rather than the other way around as I have many responsibilities as a pastor and am often not near the phone. If you don't get me, please leave a message and I'll call back.
Have you completed the membership application yet? I told the Bishop that I would have it to deliver to him for special processing on Monday, and now he's wondering why I didn't follow through. Please let me know what the status is.
Regards,
Pastor F |

I have once filled up a church membership form passed some steps they set, but at the end all is a waste of time and resources i have.
may i ask you does it means you people cannot help those that are not your members? |

Hello Brother E
We are first and foremost servants of God, and of course we seek to serve everyone whether they choose to join our organization or not. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world, and to share His gospel throughout the world. That is our primary goal.
However, due to being an international organization subject to various levels of government regulations pertaining to international commerce, anti-terrorist legislation, and anti-fraud legislation we are forced to abide by certain organizational bylaws when it comes to distributing our funds to partners around the world for the purpose of building new chapters of our church and growing the overall congregation.
We are glad to pray with you and help you in every way to grow spiritually, and membership in Th3 W@tchtower @pocalyptic Test@ment is not required for this purpose. But, please understand that my offer to you of membership was in keeping with your stated goal of doing the Lord's work and partnering with us to grow a congregation in Lagos. This will necessarily require funding, and our church bylaws and the international laws which we are subject to specifies that the money we have set aside for this purpose be distributed only to certified members of the church.
I understand that your resources are valuable. You must make choices and take care of yourself and your family first. Perhaps if we are not able to facilitate the transfer of $1 Mil. USD for the purpose of building a church in Lagos, we can work with you to determine ways in which you can raise your own funding to work on smaller projects.
Please let me know how you wish to proceed. If you prefer that we just let this matter drop and seek a new partner, I will honor your request. I only offered this opportunity to you because you had contacted C. and myself initially.
Regards,
Pastor F |

Looks like the pressure of trying to join two churches at once made the lad suffer some kind of breakdown. Here's hoping he panicked like this on any real victims as well and scared 'em all off.

Cheeky little bastard... Count myself lucky? He contacted me asking for donations first. I'm just trying to help him.
That was my first thought of how to respond, but... I want to try to salvage the bait if possible. So instead I went with...

Dear Brother,
Who is A E , and what on earth are you talking about? Has your email been hacked?
Please get back to me. This message is very strange.

Good news. He emailed my first character, C, who is the one that he tried to get to adopt him. She introduced him to Pastor F in the first place. His message was similarly panicky and potentially disturbing to a real victim. So she slapped him hard...
| Quote: |
| Son, you said you wanted a mentor and god-parent, so I'm going to give you the talking to that your parents should have done a long time ago. You contacted us first, remember? There is no reason to be so suddenly rude and hostile to Pastor Frank that he called me in tears a little while ago. You should be ashamed of yourself. I'm ashamed that I introduced you to him. I thought you were eager to join our wonderful church and do the Lord's work. If that isn't what you want, just tell us and stop wasting our time. Whatever game you are playing is pathetic. If I were nearer to you I'd come over to your house and bend you over my knee and give you a good spanking right now! |

I'm not going to post all the back-and forth emails as I try to salvage the bait... will add them if I publish later. For now, what's important, is that he still isn't letting go completely & seems to regret his earlier rashness. I'm hoping that is because he flew off the handle on everyone he was talking too - potential real vics included - and is now desperately trying to clean up the mess. Which means I must double-down on keeping him busy so he can't get any real vics back.
If anyone wants to play with him please pm me for the address. Please consider avoiding church baits - it may spook him even more & isn't likely to be much fun for you.
There may be a need for catcher addies and a potential mass-bait as well. I'm going to try to work the angle that C knows he is a scammer but wants to help him - then spoon feed him a format that will work perfectly with all the emails that I provide him (well, perfectly for the baiters that is) - but that is so ridiculous it won't possibly work on anyone else (namely it will be dependent on the baiter leading it to the payment stage so that unless you're in on the bait it will go nowhere). But that's all theory right now... I'll let everyone know if I make any headway on that front.
He's wanting a call from the Pastor because "email isn't safe." Too bad every time the pastor calls "the call cannot be completed at this time." Guess he's just going to have to make a new email account and call me to let me know what it is |

Brilliant.
That must be why he didn't question my assertion of having not been able to reach him. I never even picked up the phone, just told him that
He's trying to turn it into a dying woman in the hospital scam now. So Pastor F is rightly placing blame for the woman's impending death on E, due to his stubborn delaying of the membership application - all the while dangling the carrot of "as soon as we get the application approved the funds to help her and any others you serve in your community will be readily available."
I'll post the mails later. Want to see what his reply is first & share a chunk of them at once instead of posting multiple times. |
