I picked up this lad in the surplus forum and promised to keep the OP updated. Little did I know it would become noteworthy within the first couple of mails.

First... a quick email saying I was surprised to receive their letter, and I don't think I am related to their client, but I'd be glad to help if I can.

A few minutes later, I get an auto-reply directing me to a new email address. Okay, not all that unusual though typically they just reply from the other one and hope you don't notice.

This is where things get interesting. I forwarded my message to the new email, and got this strange reply (name and code have been replaced by me in order to protect from google).

Looks to me like someone has been chopped before. Too bad it's going to happen again anyway. Twisted Evil

Be sure to reply with a name and secret code of your own. Something like ILOVEGOATS and Muttonsucks. If they don't reply with your secret code you'll ignore their message as it is a faker.

I'm proceeding cautiously. This lad seems like he might be a bit smarter (or at least more paranoid) than average. Don't want to scare him off with the obvious goofy stuff too soon Laughing
