Below is the conversation that has taken place so far. I was hooked on this guy since his first e-mail specified it was not a scam. I would like advice on where to go from here. Do I attach a .dll, send fake money gram numbers, or some other piece of advice? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Very Happy

I have attached the scan for the first payment of fifty nine dollars, but I have not been able to get my grandson Jesse to get the other money gram. His friend Walter became very ill and the way he is talking it seems pretty serious. I will make sure that he gets you the rest before the deadline tomorrow. Thank you for your patience in this matter. Just so you know I am going to need to hire somebody to manage my funds when they arrive. If your company could please refer somebody I would appreciate it. I am happy to hear that the prize is still available. I found out that my tub is missing and there is a large hole in the floor where my tub used to be. Ver strange. My grandson Jesse thinks that highwaymen broke into my homestead and stole the tub to sell for scrap metal and buy illegal substances with it. Should I send you both payment confirmations at the same time, or would you prefer I send details of the first confirmation now and the details of the second payment when it is completed? I am so terribly sorry, but my grandson Jesse made a mistake on the money gram. He thought it was supposed to be $59. Unfortunately he spent the rest of the money on his little chemistry setup with Walter, and I won't be able to send the rest until my pension check arrives. It is supposed to arrive today or tomorrow. Is it possible that you can deduct the remaining amount from my winnings?

If you're using your own email address for this, drop him and start over. Create a character with no connection to you, living at an address that doesn't exist, and use him for baiting. I suggest objecting to use of WU, MG, or any similar method to send the fee, and asking for a bank account instead. Then you can report the account (which will hopefully be shut down) and score a piggy.

I'm with Vonplaso - make sure you are using a fake account and wriggle out of every WU or MG suggestion with all your worth.
I have NEVER been to an imaginary WU or MG yet and i've wracked up a few piggies in the process.
I'm going to start making WU and MG available to me just so that i can use some of these great fake forms! Then when that doesn't work I'll go for the bank account.

Thanks for the advice. This is most definitely a fake account I set up solely for this purpose. I went ahead and sent him some bogus money gram numbers. I learned in the future though to not "send" anything via money gram/western union. I thought I was clever "sending" the wrong amount. Didn't think he would settle for the small amount.

I am also baiting this person but very early days yet.
You will find the smaller the amount they are asking for,
the less likely they are to give up bank details.

Sorry, I didn't realize somebody else was also baiting this guy. I hope I didn't mess anything up for you. When I realized that i blew it getting his account information I've been spending a lot of time giving him the runaround a and frustrating the ever loving day out of him. Hope he doesn't drop you when he eventually drops me.

^^^^ Don't worry about baiting the same lad as anyone else. Unless a baiter hides the email and asks no one contact the lad as it would spoil their bait, it's a free for all and the more the merrier! We would rather have lads be busy with baiters, rather than real victims. Razz

I have, but as the lad found out, the branch I went to wasn't listed on the WU website. Damn, turns out it was a fake branch. It looked genuine to me, and the guy behind the counter, Mr Gomer I think his name was, was a very nice helpful chap.

No worries,you are a lot further into the bait than me.I have refused w.u. and m.g. around 5 times now but he keeps insisting on them.

Just as an update, the lad is still communicating with me. I thought for sure that after a week of stringing him along he would have given up, but he is still going. So far, after he told me the numbers that I gave him turned out to be wrong, I explained to him I discovered that he and I have been ripped off *gasp*. Apparently someone intercepted the money gram I sent him, and is currently spending the money I sent him. I told him to be aware that thee are shady people about, and that as his friend I cautioned him to be aware of scammers. However, as it turns out, my grandson Jesse never sent the money in the first place. I had to apologize to my lad because apparently Jesse and his friend Walter had been spending the money I gave him to send. They were using the money to make and sell drugs, and now I am so sorry for wasting his time and doubting him. I will now send the money myself, and hope he gets it soon. Or not. It could take another week or so to get to him Wink

As long as he believes he's going to be getting money from you he'll stick around.

Some Lads consider themselves "Businessmen" and don't work weekends. If you don't get any reply until Monday don't be too alarmed.
