I got this from a pet today. I love it when they flip out to the point that they lose any part of their scammer personna.

Good idea. My character has no idea why my lad is so upset or what any of this means. Perhaps Ogun is an assasin. It's a good name for one. He has o gun.

The lad is suffering from ASEM syndrome having none of the benifits of being the "real" guyman who scammed me, with all the headaches of dealing with a very rich victim who is becoming impatient.

Here's what I had replied.

I think he might have twigged, but I'm hoping the lure of $6000 just around the corner draws him back.

Yep he means Ogun, yoruba hunter god (also associated with war and ironwork). Actually voodoo is a great guess as ogun plays a role in voudou as well.

Reading the death threat in more detail I have figured out your exact mode of death - Ogun accidentally shoots you while looking for a file on his computer (maybe he is holding the gun while typing). The big clue is DIR BY OGUN, so Ogun must be using PC command line.

Yeah. As a straight baither, this is the sort of thing I love. It's minimal work with satisfying results.

He's twigged, but I get the consolation of knowing he's likely pissed as hell and will remain so for a good while. And angry people tend to make more mistakes--so there's that.

This lad was posing as a UK banker (or was it barrister--i forget) and as such never offered a phone number. His off-format stuff is heavily African. He might be Igbo, and did not want to even risk me hearing his likely un-British vocabulary and accent on the fly.
