What to do next? I have a Western Union scammer on the line

This guy contacted me via text and email, wanting to buy a legitimate service from my business but I recognized it as a scam right away. I decided to mess with him and sent him a quote. He said it was fine and he'd give me his credit card number to charge, but I need to over charge it by $2500 so that I could wire cash via Western Union to the place that would ship his vehicle to me for the service. I sent him a fake credit card authorization form. He sent it back with a Mastercard number, Winnetka CA address and name. I called the issuing bank and the address matched but the name did not of course. I reported the scam to the bank. I sent this idiot a fake receipt showing that I charged the credit card, and he sent me back with an address in Binghamton, NY to wire the cash to via Western Union. I really like wasting this morons time. What should I do next? Is there a way to fake a Western Union receipt?

There are many things you could do, but as you appear to be messing with this scammer using your real life details, the safest would be to just drop him.

Could you also post his details (with the email headers, minus your details) in the Surplus Forum further down. There are a number of us who have a soft spot for card scammers and delight in relieving them of their card details.

Now I am getting a phone call from 646-481-8250 - a Manhattan number
I haven't answered but they keep calling.

Could you post the initial email he gave you as that will give us an idea of what he tries to buy and where he claims to be from.

I googled the phone number and found that he'd tried to do this scam with a screen printer for t-shirts as well.

This person has tried calling me 7 times in the last hour from the 646-481-8250 number. I haven't answered and they don't leave voicemails. I am trying to waste their time and annoy them, but now they're annoying me with these calls. I'd like to answer and give them a piece of my mind, but they have my real number and email address. What to do now to waste their time??

It is best to ignore the calls and messages. Block them if you can. Do not respond to anything.

This is one reason we do bait with our real life information.

Scammers are criminals.

What can they do with my email and phone number? It's obvious that they're either in another state or another country. Should I be worried?

In most cases there is nothing to worry about.

We do not know where the scammer is because there is no information in the IP and he is using VOIP which means he can be anywhere in the world.

He is most likely in West Africa, Malaysia or China.

Eventually he will go away if you do not respond to him.

Since he gave you a credit card already you should PM the complete info to a mod or report your own posting using the "Report post to a Moderator" link in the bottom right corner of your own post. They have the ability to report those to the authorities so the scammer cannot use them.

And claim a black piggy in your siggy as well!
