hows everyone doing?

after selling my item in ebay and after all the emails from "paypal" and "ebay" i have been scammed into shipping off the sold item on monday. it's friday morning in Australia, melbourne.

I shipped off the item through sea mail, so the bastard wont get the item for up to 3 months... lol. Lucky for me there's still a chance the item is in australia... hopefully.

if not, well, i've managed to get the idiots REAL address.

so in that regard he f**ked up.

so i'll be getting the authorities and what not to help with my compensation.

so what im confused with is the fact that they want it to be shipped to nigeria and not their actual address?

hows that work, could anyone shed light?

Propably because they are Nigerians? They will use whatever identities they have to do the purchase and then ship the stuff to Nigeria.

Hello possiblygeorge, and welcome here.

The information the scammer is using to "purchase" (steal) your item is fake or stolen from someone else. The shipping address in Nigeria is where he will receive your item - this is where he is really located if he asked for it to be shipped there.

It is my belief that the address it is being sent to is an innocent mule / non-guilty party (even if it is in Lagos) so it's difficult to unleash the hounds on them successfully. I've also found that some seem to be in "cahoots" with the authorities. I could be wrong but it seems some of the lads have some serious contacts there. Frustrating I know! More experienced baiters may have better info but that has been my experience.

Just to mention, baiting, site killing, and reporting emails to scam warners reduce a scammers income . lower it enough, many of their cohorts will disappear.
