I have had quite a few popup on my personal skype (which has no personal info or personal email connections) and I decided to mess with a few of them

Most seem to be attempting to "look for love" because most of them say "I love you" in less than a full day

Just wanted to see what others have done in that area

I have messed with scammers and spammers on IM before. It can be fast paced and fun!

Only problem is you have to be quick

When they start asking for proofs of you are who you claim you are it gets tough to buy off some time and whatnot

Ever get anywhere with them or do they just kind of die on you like mine usually do?

I have not gotten to far, sometimes when they ask for proof I send them a corrupted file. When they can't open it I play IT support and start having them install legitimate programs that will neither help them with the situation or hurt them but it is fun to watch them scramble. Sometimes I will do stuff like make them reinstall adobe to, all kinds of stuff. The install and reboot time they have to spend after installing something like gimp is priceless and can give you time to work out a cover while they are gone.

I went more into the "I have terrible drama" side

I claimed to one that I had a mutated dog from the government and they were trying to find me which they amazingly ate up and even gave a "helping hand". That was the most outrageous and outright stupid one I ever did. I was experimenting to see just what kind of insane things they would believe

Another time I claimed I was a retired mayor of "so & so" town and pretended I was very lonely and loved him. This lasted for months on end but I spoke with the guy very very often. I have a job that requires me to be on skype a lot and this guy was almost always on as well

Those were my two best ones
Glad to know there are other baiters on Skype too, I never see many people talking about them.

I have a number of them going on skype as well and I keep them all in chat mode. I tell them I busted my mic so I can't talk to them so they are left with photos for their "proof". Of course they will push for cam thinking that to be convincing but that is easy enough to avoid also.

I have gotten several bank accounts from my wives over there, I just don't post the chats on here much because they have to be edited to remove my complete character name.

Ciassy and Fabio are 2 of my current ones going on there.

For your pictures are you just finding random ones online or do you have resources somewhere?

I've been questioning whether it was moral to just take some random persons picture so I started editing them in photoshop enough that they looked like someone else. Usually something like a skin tone change and hair color change

I tend to take a really big PDF I don't care about, that has no compromising information about me as well, and just change the file extension to .jpg for a corrupted image file. Works like a charm.

@ NV: Talk to me about that sometime! I can show you a quick way to modify your name out of those chats, literally takes 10 second to do it.

I guess my luck with the skype scammers just sucks. I tried the corrupt file trick but he was really really getting pushy about it.

They seem to be a tad smarter. Even their english seems a bit better and they seem to know more about how computers work than the ones via email

I keep a few photos that appear to be an age progression of my character and only exchange one or two with them. If they push real hard i always have the other 2 to fall back to or I just tell them that it is my work computer not a personal one so I don't have much on there.

Some are very demanding, to the point of being rather nasty about it, but don't let them make you feel bad. There are plenty of easier ones on there. I have been getting about one new request a week on mine.

He had the whole "I love you but I will hurt you if you don't send pics" thing going on

Was laughing with my friends on that one because we were all around the laptop responding to this guy coming up with clever things to say

Note that they have never baited before and we were honestly just seeing how stupid we could get
