A couple of years ago, I was on Jury Service in Truro. One long lunchtime, I went inside Truro Cathedral. It has a really good gift shop, specialising in Fair Trade Items. I bought a natty circular mirror made by ethnic peoples in South America. It hangs in my Kitchen.
(I know this is slightly off-topic, but there you go!). |

Harrods sell Chrimbo deccies all year round. When I pointed out the absurdity of selling decorations in the middle of summer, the staff explained politely, as only they can, that a lot of people will be working away from home for long periods (possibly with family in tow in a country that doesn't do Christmas) and still want to enjoy the festivities along with the rest of us. So they need to pack Christmas along with spare socks and pants. That put me in my place. |
