Once I get a bank account from a lad, I'd like to get another one or two before I drop him. Since my character is in the US of course I don't trust
foreign banks and this works fairly well. But if they send me a US account, I can't think of a good reason to tell the lad why I won't accept it.
Any ideas?

Try "I went to my bank and tried to transfer funds to your bank account. The transaction would not go through. Would you please double check the account number? Do you have another account we could try?"

If the bank account is in the US, there is a good chance that a 'mule' is involved. Be sure to pass any details on to the mods, so that they can contact the appropriate authorities.

you had a bank account there and don't like to support them in any way.

the bank is owned by a chinese company, who is famous for their cooked dogs.

you live in state X and it's impossible for you to send money to state Y.

They gave you a routing number but no SWIFT code. You look up the SWIFT code but get the wrong branch. You send the transfer slip from your bank (which does not exist, but the lad doesn't know this) to the lad. A few days later, you tell him that the transaction failed because of a general bank error, and ask him to confirm that the account (including the wrong SWIFT code) is correct.

I think I'll try the bank foreclosed on my house and I'm severely pissed.
Actually dog prepared properly is quite tasty.

If the bank account is a US account, should we send it Alan, or should we send it Scamwarners (or the mods). I ran into an issue similar to this once, where the lad had a mule. Often times, the mule doesn't realize they're involved in anything illegal.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for closing lad accounts, but would it really help the mule if they got suckered by a lad and end up getting screwed for it by losing their bank account and possibly going to jail? Admittedly, some mules are just as guilty as the lads, but at the same time, many are victims too.

Thoughts?
