Seems like every time I posted something to Craigslist I got 20 scam emails wanting me to send my futon to Nigeria but I've posted a few very overpriced items with no scammy response. I overpriced so I wouldn't waste honest people's time. I was afraid to try to use my real address though I was wondering if they would send it to a PO Box? I just had to get one for another reason and want to use it for this also. Does anyone have any spare scams that involve sending a check? I was thinking it would make an interesting kitchen boarder. I realize my lame idea is not as cool as you guys' but I would like to waste their time requesting multiple checks.

Also a quick reminder to warn your family and friends who are new to the internet. I got my grandmother a computer for Christmas and its a good thing I took her out to lunch today, she was about to pay taxes to get her Pepsi lottery prize! She thought because there was a link to the Pepsi site it had to be sent from there. Be sure to warn people who are new to the internet about 419 scams. She also thought getting her money back would be easy!!! It took getting my dad on the phone to convince her that she needed to walk away. I've been chatting with this gentleman with my grandma's email for a few days but he is not going to do anything until he gets the taxes and fees for the prize moneygrammed to Ireland. My grandmother is not senile, she just simply did not understand the technology. Any ideas on how I could get this scammer back other than sending them to pick up non-existant wire transfers would be great also.

Have you traced the email IP? Chances are good that he isn't even in Ireland and only using a mule to get the MG. Is there a different name to send it too? Another clue.

Oh, I voted no, btw. The only one I'd worry about is my Mother and she see's a scam behind every tree.

I've got the emails from granny, is there google keywords you'd recommend? Even if I did get the information, its not like I can fly to Ireland or anywhere to kick his butt for trying to scam my grannie. Are there agencies over there that would care or investigate?

Unfortunately, your granny's name seems to be involved. So better stop contact with her particular spammer.
And how about your P.O.B? Is is traceable to you? Better baiting safe than being harassed by frustrated scammers.

Welcome to eater profitprophet. If the scammer has any real life details of you or your family, you should cease contact immediately, (at least from that e-mail address). However there is nothing to stop you creating an untraceable address and starting from scratch again. The scammer will have sent out tens (if not hundreds of mails) and will reply to anyone who contacts him. Read the stickies and Eater Uni and apply for a mentor.

As to your other question, you may find a check scammer in the surplus lads forum.

If you post his email address I'm sure some of the baiters here would love to have fun with him.
