My scammer has fallen for me..

Ok, so I knew from the start it all seemed to good to be true, a Dutch man who did'nt pick up on my bogus name Van Der Valk..so I played the waiting game, telling him when to be online, I spun things out, I knew he would ask for money, though £1200 seemed like small amount, for a new lap top, ticket from Nigeria and visa and passport..what a shame I got arrested by the police, and could'nt send it.
Even when I told him I knew he was a scammer, I worked interpol and they were going to the address he gave me as we sat chatting, unless he told me the truth, then he admitted he had fallen for me, he now thinks he is being signed up for dating sites so he can help me catch the scammers, I'm still working on getting a photo..
I have kept transcripts of the webchats.
All dating sites should warn against scammers in an email when you sign up, I was shocked it happened to me..I warned the internet site but he is still on there..
How long to I keep this up for?

Welcome to 419eater.
With a last name of Van Der Valk , it should have been obvious for anybody that you are dutch (no offense of course).

First of all some advice ; try not to educate the scammers. We personally would be alot happier if their mails stay full of errors and that they don't know how scambaiting works. We wouldn't want the scammers their mails to actually sound plausible.
Feel free to brush up on any information in the eater university (last link on the forum). I also hope you are baiting safe.

The problems with scammers is that its not only dating sites , but just about evrywhere on the web lately. You can't type in your email adress anywhere without having to wonder if this will mean you will be flooded by emails. i'm also just a bit paranoid in those accounts.

Now about how long you should keep this up. For as long as you can / want to. The longer you keep this scammer busy , the longer he won't be able to actually get money from a real victim.

Have you visited ScamWarners yet? All infornation about scammers email addresses and pictures are useful in helping potential victims.

In the meantime keep him busy and do share any prize remarks he makes!

I dont' know if I'm understanding this correctly when you say, "My scammer has fallen for me". Are you saying you believe he really likes you? If my assumption is correct, I hate to be the one to tell you . . .but . . . he is doing nothing more than approaching his scamming from another angle. This person is a scammer, plain and simple, a scammer.

very true they will use any method that works, I am baiting one that uses the same technique as they use in pow camps, extreme as this sounds never underestimate them. I thank goodness i had militaryy training and wasable to recgonize this but he still got under my skin and i had to step back until i was able to take control.
