Hi! I didn't even know there was such a thing as scam baiting, but I recently was contacted by someone wanting to buy 130 things from me, which will weigh about 400 pounds, and have the items sent to South Africa. So I go through all the questions, get a shipping quote and tell him his total, over $6,000. He does not care of the price of course, money is no object. So finally today I get a credit card number with a CA billing address. I want to know how do I find out whose cards it is and notify them it has been tampered with? Thanks!

I would like to add, I do have a name to go with the card, a PO Box address with zip, and I even have the authorization code, though it could be fake. I don't even know where to begin to find out whose card it is and let them know what is going on, as I am sure the card is stolen.

You might want to PM one of the mods about that. Go to the forum index page, scroll down and click on one of the green names. Send them a PM with the information and they might help you sort it out.

Good on you for thinking your way through the situation and not just ignoring it, or (worst of all) going ahead and using the information to benefit yourself.

I get so many emails all the time, this one I thought was real at first, glad I figured it out (as soon as I saw South Africa and the money he was willing to "spend"). I own a small (very small lol) business, and since i started it I have been bombarded with emails, I usually ignore them but as I read somewhere, this sounds like much fun.
