Pushing a lad to pony up with bank account #3 and explaining why, as I live in the Channel Islands, can't fly due to an ear problem and that it is a day's boat trip to the mainland, that I can't pay by Western Union. Lad asks me to do the folllowing:
| Quote: |
| Thanks for your good and necessary information that you passed to me now,but i will advise you to make up your mind and travel to London by boat even if it will take you 3 to 4 days for you to get to London and send the money through western union money transfer that will be better because as soon as you send it and you get me the information i can pick the money that very day in our country here, you using and account keep delaying all the time and we have to come to an end of this transaction in time,so think about it very well and get back to me.God bless you. |
He got a big time slap for that.
So what's the most ridiculous thing a lad has ever asked you to go through in order to get him his MTCN? |

I have a Lad at the moment who expects the lone parent of two (car-sick) young children to leave them behind at home, alone, for eight hours while she drives to Western Union and back. Apparently they will be OK in her absence:

It is your first time to use western union so therefore none can blame you. It is always like this at the first experience. - Yes lad, and at the second, and the third... you'll see.
I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers? |

Problem with the boat - the Victor Hugo that serves the smaller islands hit the rocks at Alderney a couple of weeks ago and is being fixed in France, and the bad weather has cancelled the flights out of Alderney as well (probably)
But nothing stops a Lad getting to the WU outlet, so how is it we have so many problems? |

I was baiting as a Geologist working in Antarctica so I told my lad I couldn't get to a WU. He informed me that the there was a WU outlet nearby... In Tasmania. Well fair enough, it's only 3443kms by boat across freezing water and treacherous seas. I told him I had frostbite in both feet and my arms were tired from rowing there a few days earlier. He was generous enough to give me a week to get it sorted. |

after being in a nasty car accident trying to go send my love lad his WU, I was in the hospital with a compund fracture of my femur, broken ribs, a concussion and severely damaged kidneys, and my lad asked me to sign myself out of the hospital and walk the 15 miles to the WU. he explained to me that pain is only temporary, and no matter how much pain I was in, it would be okay, and it would be all worth it. he said my pain will only last a little while, and our love would last forever. |
