but how can I be sure this whole web site isn't run by some Nigerian master criminal to dupe scammers out of their tricks and gain information on ongoing baiting? "trust no one?

Scammers wouldn't spend this amount of time on what we do here without getting any money out of it. It would also be very counterproductive to keep referring people to ScamWarners and trying to raise public awareness. Wink

I meant no offense, I do take this seriously, and by my very nature I trust no one, perhaps im paranoid but its difficult to blindside someone that questions everything after all there are plenty of websites people put alot of time and money into that are nothing but scams once again sorry for any offense but i believe my question was valid

There are some serious answers above that make sense. This site was started by an individual (Shiver) who wanted to share his baiting exploits and encourage others to join in. He has been the subject of numerous articles on scambaiting and has even written a book.

While he is no longer active here, the site quickly became very popular and continues to grow steadily as people like yourself find us. Scammers find us too sometimes, but they don't usually last very long. Twisted Evil

In addition to baiting, we have expanded into broader activities like raising public awareness, fake site killing, victim support, and working in cooperation with law enforcement to get bank accounts monitored and shut down and to (occasionally) get scammers arrested. In fact, some of our members work in law enforcement.

We'll point you back to this thread when you hit 1K posts. I'm sure you'll have a laugh too. Very Happy

Nlot that I've seen. They tend to be set up for the minimum 12 months,with content stolen from legitimate businesses.
