Hello everyone, this is my first post and it should be obvious that the reason is a scam email I received.
About half a year ago I registered on this dating site, my girlfriend had moved to study in a different country so I was feeling a bit down 
Anyway, I soon forgot all about that site (guess my profile does not make a good impression  ) and recently had this mail in my inbox. I don't know how this person got may mail address since it does not show on the site, so if anyone know how this could be done I'd appreciate it.
I knew all about scams beforehand, so I immediately recognized this as a scam. I shall humor the scammer for a while and let you guys know how things move along.
This is my first scambaiting so I'm open to ideas. I have read quite a lot of scambaiter letters both on this site and a few others, and I know safe baiting so don't worry about that part.
Anyway, to wind up this long first post of mine: I'm done. |

It may not have come from that dating site at all -- did they mention it by name...
Did it show up in your personal mail? If yes, stop correspondence and create an account just for baiting...gmail is a good free e-mail as it strips the IP showing where you are located.
Just send her a note saying her letter came to a business address (don't give it to her) and you moved it over to your personal mail...and go on with the bait like nothing ever happened. At worst, she'll wonder why your personal e-mail person stopped answering...

If there mail came to your personnal e-mail, which may be connected to to your personnal details drop it and delete it.
If however it came via a dodge'e e-mail address, play along with them.

Hi all, thanks for the welcome.
I never give out personal information, did not even use my name on my profile at the site. No picture there either, I guess I am a little paranoid by nature
I also use an ip free mail as my standard.
The scammer mentioned the actual dating site where my profile was located.
I haven't recieved any replies yet, but I was late with my email. There was a whole week without me checking my mail so maybe the scammer has already moved on to someone else since I didn't reply during the first few days.
I have already created a new email for the purpose of scambaiting. Even if I have only slightly had a taste of this "hobby", I do believe I am quite hooked already.
