I contacted Global Vaults and explained the local situation to them.

They are looking at an old gold mine which operated during the 1880's and 1930's.

Our greedy ranch owner thinks he can reopen the mine and make a lot of
money from it because the price of gold has gone way up.

very nice idea, the "rancher in a remote place with no phone lines" trick. You mind if I use it aswell to justify my not having a telephone?
